Important note!
Select a central assembly position (e.g.
corridor) for the first smoke alarm de-
vice with radio link (master). While plan-
ning this position, remember that the
distance between the first smoke alarm
device with radio link (master) and the
planned assembly positions of the other
smoke alarm devices with radio links to
be connected to the radio group are
approximately equidistant.
1. For commissioning the first smoke
alarm device with radio link, remove the
black activation fuse from the red acti-
vated button (Illus. 1 point a).
CAUTION!
The long thin side of the activation fuse
also serves a tip (Illus. 5) for engaging the
radio button (Illus. 6 point a) and will be
required again.
en
Now press the red activation button
(Illus. 1 point a) of the device. This but-
ton must close when pressed with the
device's housing. A short audible signal
indicates that your smoke alarm device
with radio link is activated.
2. With the initial start-up of the smoke
alarm device with radio link, the radio
LED (Illus. 6 point b) shows through a
short, yellow interval that the device
automatically searches for other smoke
alarm devices with radio links for setting
up a radio connection.
Since the smoke alarm device with radio
link activated first still cannot find any
other smoke alarm device with radio
link for making a radio connected yet,
the radio LED gives out a short red si-
gnal which means that no other smoke
alarm device with radio link with acti-
vated master function could be found
for setting up a radio connection/group.
After the red radio LED goes off, you can
begin the set up of a radio group.
3. In order to be able to build a group of
several inter-connected smoke alarm de-
vices with radio links (radio group), the
master function needs to be activated in
the first activated smoke alarm device
with radio link.
Please always remember that this first
smoke alarm device with radio link will
manage the structure of the radio group
in future and therefore a central instal-
lation position needs to be found for it.
For activating the master function in this first
activated smoke alarm device with radio link,
press the radio button (Illus. 6 point a) with
the long and thin pin-end of the activation
fuse (Illus. 5) until the radio LED lights yellow.
Pull out the pin and keep it handy.
The radio LED will now change into a
short, yellow interval and then shows a
green signal to confirm to you that the
smoke alarm device with radio link has
been successfully assigned the master
function.
After this green confirmation, the radio
LED changes to a regular, long, yellow in-
terval which shows that the connection
mode of the first smoke alarm device wi-
th radio link (master), is now active and
the device is ready to connect to other
smoke alarm devices with radio links to
form a radio group.
You can now continue with laying out a
radio group.
You have approximately 10 minutes to
activate the connection mode in another
smoke alarm device with radio link, the-
reby building a radio group.
