1.5. Electrical installation
Underground cables must be equipped with a protective
sheath with a sufficient diameter to contain the motor cable
and the accessories cables.
For overground cables, use a cable grommet that will with-
stand the weight of vehicles (ref. 2400484).
1.6. Clothing precautions
Take off any jewellery (bracelet, chain, etc.) during installation.
For manoeuvring, drilling and welding operations, wear appro-
priate protection (special glasses, gloves, ear protection, etc.).
1.7. Safety instructions relating to installation
DANGER
Do not connect the drive to a power supply (mains, bat-
tery or solar) until installation is complete.
WARNING
Modifying any of the components in this kit or using ad-
ditional components not recommended in this manual is
strictly prohibited.
Monitor the gate as it moves and keep people away from it
until installation is complete.
Do not use adhesive to mount the drive.
WARNING
Take care when using the manual unlocking device. Man-
ual unlocking may result in uncontrolled movement of
the gate.
A er installation, ensure that:
• the mechanism is correctly adjusted
• the manual unlocking device is operating correctly
• the drive changes direction when the gate encounters
an object 50 mm high positioned halfway up the leaf.

This drive is designed for motorising hinged gates with a rigid structure
(wood, metal, aluminium), with the following maximum dimensions
These data are valid for a slowdown zone of at least 1 second. Oth-
erwise, the maximum weight of the portal for a given length must be
halved.
Attention
For a large gate leaf format (larger than 2 m) or in a windy area,
Somfy recommends installing an electric lock.
