4.2 Laser mode (TKRS 31 only)
The laser mode allows the stroboscope to flash at the frequency that is
measured by the built-in laser tachometer. The laser requires a reflective
surface mounted on the rotating machine such as the supplied reflective
tape. Using the laser helps to quickly determine the speed of the rotating
object and achieving a permanently frozen image even in the presence of
varying speeds.
The laser can be activated by two methods:
A) Short press (< 0,5 s) on button 1 "laser" activates the laser and starts a
continuous measurement. Another short press turns the laser off.
B) Long and continuous press (> 0,5 s) on button 1 "laser" activates the
laser as long as the button is pressed.
A red laser symbol on the screen indicates that the laser is active.
W A R N I N G :
Never point the laser at people, animals or mirror surfaces. The laser beam
can damage eyes.
During the laser measurement, the stroboscope is flashing at the same speed
as measured by the tachometer. As indication, when the frequency is stable
(±5%) for more than 2 seconds, it is used as a reference of flashing rate after
the laser is switched off.
After the laser measurement, the statistics of the measurement are shown
(min, max, average and last measurement) and the stroboscope continuous
to flash at the speed of the average measurement.
