6.0 Seating

6.1 Seat cushions

Seat cushions supplied by Sunrise Medical will have Velcro®
strips that correspond to patches on the seat.
WARNING!
• You must ensure the strips are aligned prior to using the
wheelchair.
• Other cushions used should also have Velcro® strips in a
similar position to ensure the cushion does not slip off the
seat.
NOTE: The seat cushions, supplied by Sunrise Medical all
have removable covers.

6.2 Changing seat depth on the Jive M2 Sedeo Ergo

(Fig.6.1)
• Use a 5.0 mm Allen Key, (Hex Wrench).
• Loosen the 2 screws, (A), on the bottom of the outer seat
plate, but do not take the screws out as these prevent the
shift pieces from pulling out.
• The back assembly can now be shifted backwards or
forwards to adjust the seat depth.
• Tighten the screws.
CAUTION!
When a bigger seat depth is required ensure that the cables
are lengthened before the mechanical adjustment takes place.

Sunrise Medical strongly recommend that you contact your
approved Sunrise medical servicing agent to carry out this
task.

6.3 Changing seat height

There are four adjustable seat posts, one at each corner of the
drive base, (Fig.6.2).
The posts are held in place by bolts inserted through
adjustment holes.
To adjust the seat height:
• Remove the bolts from the posts using two 13 mm spanners.
• Move the posts to the desired position.
• Replace the bolts into the new holes in the posts.
• Tighten the bolts.
DANGER!
• Sunrise Medical strongly recommend that you contact your
approved Sunrise medical servicing agent to carry out this
task.
• If any bolts are removed from the seat frame or seat posts it
is possible that unexpected movement of the assembly may
occur. This could result in serious injury.
• The seating system must never be adjusted beyond safe
limits. Always consult your approves Sunrise Medical dealer/
service agent.

6.4 Removable seat covers

The seat covers are all fully removable using zips or Velcro
Once brackets are removed seat covers can be removed. The
zip for the backrest is located on the under side of the cushion.

6.5 JAY backrests

The standard backrest assembly will allow the fitting of a JAY
backrest, which is available as an optional extra.
