Using "Caller ID with call waiting" service

In order to use the "Caller ID
with call waiting" service, you
need to subscribe to a telephone
company which offers Caller ID
service combined with "call
waiting" service.
When a new call comes in, the
name or the phone number of
the new caller appears on the
display.

During a power interruption, this
service will not be offered.
!
If you want to dial when the
CALL WAITING indicator lights
on the display, press TALK/
DIAL or CALLER ID and then
dial the number.
!
If FLASH/CALL WAITING is
pressed when there is no new
incoming call, the call will be
disconnected.

Before you use this feature, make sure that you have
subscribed to both Caller ID service and "call waiting"
service with your telephone company. Also, check to see if
the telephone company offers Caller ID service combined
with "call waiting" service.
When a new call comes in while you are talking, check the display.
The CALL WAITING indicator lights and the new caller's name (or
phone number) appears on the display and remains for about 20
seconds.

When you want to switch to a new call, press
FLASH/CALL WAITING.
The current caller is put on hold and you can answer the
new call.

When you want to switch back to the first caller,
press FLASH/CALL WAITING again.
Pressing FLASH/CALL WAITING lets you switch
between the two calls.
p If you have not subscribed to "Caller ID with
call waiting" service
When you do not use "Caller ID with call waiting" service,
proceed as follows to set CIDCW (Caller ID with Call Waiting)
OFF. If CIDCW is set ON, your phone may happen to be muted
during conversation — this results from a characteristic of this
service itself.
1 Press PGM.
2 Press FLASH/CALL WAITING.
"CIDCW IS OFF" appears on the display.
3 Press PGM again.
You hear a long confirmation beep.
When you subscribe to this service at a later time, set the phone
ON for the service by following the same steps ("CIDCW IS ON"
appears on the display).
