Putting a call on mute

Exchanging the battery during a phone call

Be sure to proceed steps 1 to 3
within one minute.
TALK/DIAL
button
The MUTE button allows you to temporarily suspend a phone
conversation without disconnecting the call. When a call is on mute,
you can hear the caller but the caller cannot hear you.
Press MUTE.
"==MUTE==" flashes on the display.
p To resume the conversation
Press MUTE again (or TALK/DIAL).
If the battery becomes weak during a phone call, the handset will
beep every three seconds (battery alarm). "BATTERY LOW" and
"PRESS MUTE" appear alternately on the display. Within one
minute, you must exchange the battery pack to continue the
conversation, otherwise the call will be disconnected.

Press MUTE to put the call on mute.
"CHANGE BATT." appears on the display.

Exchange the battery in the handset with a fully
charged one in the base unit.
The call remains connected even though the display
blanks when exchanging the batteries.

Press TALK/DIAL to resume the conversation.
