Load the cartridge strip narrow end first by
inserting it into the bottom of the tool grip
until flush. If the strip has been partly used,
pull it through until a live cartridge is in the
chamber.
Changing the piston

Remove the cartridge strip from the tool.
Unscrew the marking head by pressing on
the detent while at the same time holding
the breach sleeve.

Adjust the driving power by turning the regu-
lating wheel:
1 = min. power
4 = max. power
Start with the min. power. If the mark does
not penetrate deep enough or is not clearly
legible, increase the driving power.

Withdraw the piston from the marking head.
If it shows signs of wear i.e. deformation,
chipping etc., it must be replaced.

When marking, position the tool at right
angles to the work surface, press forward on
the tool and then pull the trigger.

Insert the new piston into the tool and push
back as far as it will go.

Caution: Never press back the marking
head with the palm of your hand. This is
an accident hazard!

Firmly press the marking head onto the pis-
ton guide, then screw it on until it clicks into
place.
