Intermediate cleaning of the tank - before filling with fresh water
Drain the tank, see page 26 section 6.1.
Fold up the heating element, see page 26 section 6.2.
. After draining the tank, remove any food residue from the tank.
. Fill with clean water, clean the tank and the heating elements with a brush.
. Close the drain tap once the tank has emptied.

Completion of operation
. Turn rotary switch to the 0 position.
D The indicator light or the illuminated ring goes out.
. Clean the appliance - see the following 6. "Cleaning and Care" chapter.
. Turn off the fitted mains switch.

Instructions
D Do not apply any caustic cleaners to the fascia panel or rotary switches.
D Do not spray or clean with water hoses, high pressure cleaners, high pressure steam clean
ers or steam cleaners.
D Follow the instructions supplied by the manufacturer of the cleaning product.
D Do not use abrasive cleaning agents!
D CAUTION Corrosion or pitting damage to the tank caused by cleaning materials. Do not
leave detergents in the tank for a long time.
D Stainless steel may not come into prolonged contact with concentrated acids, essence of
vinegar, salt solution, mustard or spice mixtures. Prolonged contact with these substances
will damage the protective coating. After use, rinse stainless steel surfaces until water is
clear.
CAUTION! Stainless steel may be damaged. Even stainless steel will rust if it is not

treated properly. Therefore, you must remove lime, grease, starch and protein coatings reg
ularly. Corrosion may build up under these coatings due to the lack of air. In extreme cases,
the tub or the tank can be destroyed by pitting to an extent that it may become unusable.
The manufacturer will not be held liable for damage caused by corrosion or pitting.

Suitable cleaning and care products can be obtained from your Customer Service agent.
These include the following:
− cleaners which dissolve fat or special stainless steel cleaners
− Protective stainless steel cleaners
