The table below lists the temperature classes for the maximum counter
pressure of 100hPa:
Type
Max. motor frequency
Temperature class
Discharge counter pressure PSA+/ 0301
T-Glycol TSA+/ 0102
In order to stay within the temperature class, it is imperative to survey
the temperature of the cooling liquid!
Installation
Vacuum system
The vacuum system must be installed in a horizontal position on a level
surface.
Make sure that there is enough room around the pump system (at least
1 m) for service work etc.
The piping must be cleaned before assembly. All foreign matter such as
welding slag and swarf must be completely removed. Prior to connec-
tion, the pipes should be flushed thoroughly or blown through with
compressed air.
Because of inner resistance in the pipeline, keep the inlet pipe (which
should have the same nominal diameter as the pump flange or the inlet
valve port) as short as possible. If longer pipelines (> 5 m) are planned,
a wider nominal diameter will be necessary.
Connect the pipes in such a way that no tension or compressive stress
is placed on the system; use bellows if necessary.
WARNING
A filter or a screen has to be installed on the suction side of the va-
cuum pump, in order to avoid any suction of particles and foreign
matter into the running vacuum pump (danger of explosion!).
The filter or the screen must have a mesh size of £ 0.8 mm.
Busch offers an intermediate flange mesh screen, which fulfills this re-
quirement (for DN80 flange: Busch Part No. 0947 545 664).
The inlet and outlet pipes must be connected up in such a way as to
prevent any condensation from entering the pump.
Electrical connection/ Checks
The electrical installation can only be carried out by a specialist.
l Make sure that the requirements according to EMC-Directive
2014/30/EU as well as the current EN-standards, electrical and oc-
cupational safety directives and the local or national regulations
respectively, are complied with (this is the responsibility of the de-
signer of the machinery into which the vacuum pump is to be in-
corporated; see also the corresponding comments in the
EU-Declaration of Conformity).
l Make sure that the power supply is compatible with the data on
the nameplate of the drive motor
l Make sure that an overload protection according to EN 60204-1 is
provided for the drive motor
l Make sure that the drive motor of the vacuum pump will not be
affected by electric or electromagnetic interference; if unsure
please seek advice from your Busch representative
If the motor's direction of rotation is wrong, the pump can be seriously
damaged.
In order to change the direction of rotation, two phases on the motor
must be swapped around.
If the vacuum pump is delivered without drive motor, a drive motor
must be mounted according to the following specifications:

CAUTION
The starting torque and the nominal torque should not exceed the
following torques for both running modes and must be limited, i.e.
in the frequency converter control system.

Motor mounting instructions
Before the mounting of the motor, the coupling must be installed bet-
ween the motor and the vacuum pump. Respect the Installation and
Operating Instructions of the coupling. Regarding the explosion pro-
tection, the coupling must show at least the same protection degree
like the vacuum pump for the outside category ("outside" (o)). See the
nameplate of the vacuum pump. Concerning the explosion group and
the temperature class, a higher protection degree can be applied. But
only Busch original couplings should be used.

In regard to its explosion protection, the mo-
tor must have at least the same protection le-
vel as the vacuum pump for the outside area
("outside" (o)). See nameplate of the va-
cuum pump. A higher protection level, e.g.
for the explosion group or the temperature
class, can also be used.
