20. Break in the rudder hinges using the same method as the
elevator hinges. Slide the fin into position. The tail wheel
bracket will require manipulation during the installation of
the fin.
21. Slide one #4 washer on each of the threaded rods on the
bottom of the fuselage.
22. Thread the 4-40 nuts on the threaded rods.
23. Use a 1/4-inch nut driver to tighten the nuts. Make sure not to
over-tighten the nuts and damage the fuselage or fin.

STABILIZER AND FIN INSTALLATION FOR HIGHER
POWER CONFIGURATIONS (OPTIONAL)
When using a higher power configuration, it is recommended to
glue the stabilizer and fin to the fuselage to increase their strength.
24. Remove the canopy hatch from the fuselage by sliding it
forward slightly. Lift the hatch at the rear and remove it from
the fuselage.

25. Flex the elevator through its range of motion a few times to
break in the hinges.
26. Remove the lower fuselage cover from the fuselage. Set it
aside in a safe location.
27. Slide the stabilizer into the slot in the fuselage. The control
horn will face the bottom of the fuselage. Make sure the
stabilizer is fully forward and the slot in the stabilizer aligned
with the slot in the fuselage for the fin.
28. Break in the rudder hinges using the same method as the
elevator hinges. Slide the fin into position. The tail wheel
bracket will require manipulation during the installation of
the fin.
