5. Visual and Function Inspection/
Safety Information
Repositioning products are also subject to natural aging. Check the
equipment regularly and carefully to make sure it is working prop-
erly. Make sure that the product is in good condition and that the
material and seams are not damaged.
WARNING:
» Faulty products must no longer be used.
» Make sure that there are a sufficient number of carers and assis-
tants corresponding to the transfer situation.
» Never leave the patient unattended.
» The smooth surface considerably minimises resistance to friction
during the change of position. Carefully check the two trans-
fer surfaces, making sure they are stable and brakes are applied
(wheelchair, bed).
» The distance between free transfer surfaces using the Rollboard
Special Edition 30 must not be more than 15 cm.
» Particulary when lifting the Rollboard Special Edition 30 make sure
that the patient is securely on the Rollboard Special Edition 30 and
cannot slide off.
» Make sure that carers are always aware of their backs during the
transfer.
» Note the weight limit (300 kg).
» Do not use sharp-edged items when using the Rollboard Special
Edition 30. The Rollboard Special Edition 30 could get damaged in
this case.
» Transfers under uncovered skin must be done with a cloth between the
Rollboard Special Edition 30 and the patient (e. g. towel).

6. Product Labeling

The transfer aid Rollboard Special Edition 30 is a medical product,
class I and complies with the MDD directive 93/42/EEC. Transatlantic
is certified in accordance with the directive DIN EN ISO 13485 by ECM
Zertifizierungsgesellschaft für Medizinprodukte in Europa mbH.

7. Disposal Information

For the Rollboard Special Edition 30 there are no special disposal
rules; it can be disposed of in accordance with national and local
regulations as necessary.
