2. Use/Placement
The Rollboard Special Edition 30 is ideally suited for atraumatic, pain-
less and low-friction transfer of seated and recumbent, e.g. heavy,
particularly helpless or premedicated patients to a mobile shower
trolley, a different bed, a trolley, different types of wheelchairs, an
x-ray, examination or operating table.
Transfer is also possible over a short distance or over different
heights. The Rollboard Special Edition 30 is extremely flexible with
its support for the transfer of patients with many drainages or with
problems such as respiratory distress syndrome. For safety reasons,
transfers with the Rollboard Special Edition 30 should be done with
two persons and if applicable with a sheet for pulling the patient.
Move the patient in a recumbent position slightly to the side and
slide the Rollboard Special Edition 30 about 1/5 of the way under the
patient. Place the patient in a supine position on the Rollboard Spe-
cial Edition 30. Pull the patient over and onto the Rollboard Special
Edition 30 in the transfer direction with the pull sheet. Without the
pull sheet stand beside the transfer level and push the patient onto
the Rollboard Special Edition 30 in the transfer direction.
WARNING:
» Ensure the working heights of the transfer levels are correct for
working without back injury.
To remove the Rollboard Special Edition 30 place the patient briefly
on the side and remove the Rollboard Special Edition 30 from under
the patient.
The Rollboard Special Edition 30 can be used by four carers when
transferring very heavy persons. The Rollboard Special Edition 30 can
also be briefly lifted with a load during a transfer to negotiate an
obstacle. The Rollboard Special Edition 30 can be pulled up or down,
moved or briefly lifted to move it away from an unfavourable trans-
fer situation. Always be aware of your back when working as a carer.
This product is suitable for re-use.
Options:
The Rollboard can also be used with Transa gliding foil. The following
versions of Transa gliding foil are available:
» 60 cm × 100 m (item No. 4400200)
» 60 cm × 100 m in a dispenser box (item No. 4400203)
» 53 cm × 180 cm, 60 pieces per roll (item No. 4400204)
Cut the appropriate length of Transa gliding foil from the roll (approx.
80 cm to 180 cm – depending on the type of Rollboard). Pull the
gliding foil over the Rollboard. In combination with the special edi-
tion 30 Rollboard, Transa gliding foil simplifies even difficult transfers,
thanks to its outstanding gliding properties.
For application in hygiene-sensitive environments, please use the
following disposable protective film:
» disposable protective film 60 × 190 cm (suitable for Rollboards
from 180 cm to 195 cm, item No. 4500120)
» disposable protective film 60 × 100 cm (suitable for roll boards up
to 100 cm, item No. 4500124)

3. Cleaning, Care and Disinfection
The Transatlantic Rollboard Special Edition 30 must be cleaned with
medical disinfectants before and after every change of patient.
3.1. Blue bottom cover
Do not use abrasive or bleaching agents or sharp objects for clean-
ing. The use of bleach- or alcohol-based cleaning agents can per-
manently impair the functional properties of the blue cover. The
blue cover can be easily disinfected using oxygen-based disinfectant
solutions or Trionic ® (DGHM/VAH approved). For use in hygienically
sensitive areas, please use the disposable protective film (item no.
4500120).
3.2. Silver cover
The use of bleaching agents can permanently impair the functional
properties of the silver cover. The silver cover can be easily disinfect-
ed with alcohol-based disinfectant solutions or with Trionic
VAH approved).
3.3. Board
The board itself is very durable and can be cleaned with standard
household cleansing products.
Conventional cleaning: Use warm water and mild detergent. Wipe
the product with a damp cloth if necessary and then allow to dry it
thoroughly.
Medical cleaning: The Board may easily be disinfected with alcohol-
based disinfectants as well as with Trionic
approval). Allow the board to dry after disinfection.
It is not recommended to use the autoclave due to the thermo-sen-
sitive structure of the material.

4. Warranty
The warranty is valid for a period of 3 years. It does not cover any
defects which are due to improper use. Transatlantic cannot be liable
for any accidental or indirect injury or damage.
