5. Use
5.1. Transferring from the side
•
Make sure that the sides of the wheelchair and the current or future
seat surface are as close to each other as possible.
•
Secure the wheelchair using the parking brakes (see Chapter 4.7).
•
If necessary, swing the armrest backwards or remove the sideguard
(see Chapter 4.3).
•
Flip both footplates up, swing them to the side or remove them or
flip the individual footplate up (see Chapter 4.2).
•
Slide sideways to the other seat surface When doing this sit as far
back as possible.
•
Move the legrests back into their original position.
•
If necessary lock the sideguards back in place.
5.2. Transferring from the front
Never stand on the footplate, there is a
Risk of tipping over!
•
Flip the footplates up or remove the legrests (see Chapter 4.2).
•
Make sure that the front of the wheelchair and the current or future
seat are as close to each other as possible and apply the parking
brakes on both sides (see Chapter 4.7).
•
If you are transferring from another wheelchair or indoor frame,
secure these by applying the parking brakes.
•
Now slide onto the seat surface by rotating your body.
•
Then hang the legrests back into the initial position and flip the
footplates down.
