Updating firmware of 1464T is necessary to get the functions for new modules and also to get
the improvements made on the internal software of the tester.
Is very important to understand that the new firmware of the tester is downloaded from internet, so is
absolutely necessary that the computer used to update the firmware is connected to internet and
connection is not blocked by firewall or anti-virus.
Prerequisites:
• Install 1464T software in any PC running windows and connected to internet.
(The software is in the CD supplied with 1464T).
• Check that internet connection is not blocked by firewall or anti-virus, if necessary ask you IT provider.
• Make sure version of the PC software is 1.2 or higher. In the case that the PC software version is lower,
just run the software and it will be updated automatically, once the software is launched just wait about
one minute to allow the new PC software to be downloaded, next time you launch the software you will
see the new version installed. (You can see the version on the lower right corner of the window.
See fig. 1)
1464T firmware update:
• Connect the 1464T tester to the PC using the USB cable provided.
• Turn on the 1464T.
• The first time that the tester is connected to the PC, the PC will install the USB drivers,
please make sure the drivers are installed correctly.
• Launch the PC software.
• The USB logo on the upper right corner indicates whether the 1464T has been detected.
