1 – Description and functions
This knee is intended exclusively for lower limb prosthesis.
It is a single axis hydraulic knee with hydraulic braking in stance phase, which provides 4 different adjustments, an extension assist and a
locking system for flexion.
The 4 adjustments are indicated by the following letters :
R - adjusts resistance to flexion intensity during stance phase
S - adjusts the threshold value for entering into swing phase (sensitivity)
F - adjusts flexion angle during swing phase
E - adjusts extension dampening at terminal impact
2 – Indications, maximum weight
It is specifically recommended for patients with medium to very high activity level (K3/K4) up to 150 Kg / 330 lbs (carried load included).
This knee weighs 1265 g for 1P130 model and 1285 g for 1P130-KD model.
Maximum knee flexion : 120°. However it can be limited by the socket dimensions or by the cosmetic cover.
3 – Parts for connection and finishing
Possible connections :
This knee is available in two different models :
1P130 : Upper connection by a male pyramid, convenient
for most transfemoral amputation or hip disarticulation.
1P130-KD
:
Threaded
convenient for long residual limb or knee disarticulation.
With these two models, a 34mm ∅ tube is used for the lower
connection (See Fig.1b for tightening - See Fig.2 for restrictions).

FINISHING: One-part cosmetic cover 1G16 (complete or partial)
It is recommended to reinforce the cosmetic cover in front of the
joint to increase its product life.
If the prosthesis is worn without cosmetic cover, the supplied
protective hood can be glued with XC050.
The cosmetic cover can modify the initial adjustments of the knee and limit some motions. In any case you should place the cosmetic
cover before checking the knee functions.
Do not remove the protective devices of the knee, especially the rear band that protects the hydraulic system during full flexion.
4 – Alignments
(Fig.2)
Static alignments :
In a sagittal plane, the load line goes through the Great Trochanter, from 0 to 5 mm ahead of the knee axis. At the foot level, comply with the
manufacturer instructions for alignment.
In a frontal plane, the load line goes through the socket center, the knee center and between the first and the second toes.
Dynamic alignements :
Bringing the knee forwards decreases stability of the assembly and eases step completion during walking.
Bringing the knee backwards increases stability and the patient's feeling of safety during walking, but makes it harder to start flexion.
The position of the adapter on the socket is important. If needed, use a translation device during fitting trial in order to find the best alignment.
The knee ajustments may require an adjustment of the dynamic alignments (see § 5).
