Mounting metal cutting tools
The skirt and line limiting blade
are not required for grass cutting
blades 230-2 (1), 230-4 (3), 230-8
(2) or the brush knife (4) – see
"Mounting the Deflector".
Fit the appropriate limit stop for
circular saw blades 200 (5, 6) – see
"Mounting the Deflector".

Lay your brushcutter on its back
with the cutting tool mounting face
pointing up:
Cutting edges of (1), (3) and (4) may
point in either direction.
Cutting edges of (2), (5) and (6)
must point clockwise.
Direction of rotation is marked by
arrow on inside of cutting head
deflector or limit stop.
:
Place the cutting tool (7) on the
thrust plate (8).
Collar (see arrows) must locate in
cutting tool's mounting hole.
:
Slip thrust washer (9) and rider
plate (10) over the output shaft (11).
:
Block the output shaft.
:
Screw the mounting nut (12) on to
the output shaft counterclockwise
and use the combination wrench
(13) to tighten it down firmly.
If the mounting nut is too loose,
fit a new one.
Removing metal cutting tools
:
Block the output shaft.
:
Unscrew the nut clockwise.
:
Take the parts off the shaft – but do
not remove the thrust plate (8).
