Press seal
HSD
The wall sleeve must be dimensionally accurate,
smooth and inherently stable.
Key to Fig.: 2
(D)
1
Diameter
of the core drill hole/wall sleeve
(d)
2
Diameter
of the media pipe
6 Installation of the closed press seal for
pipes to be newly installed (D = 100 - 200
mm) from the outside of the building
1
Coat the cut surfaces and cable/pipe sealing surfaces
of the cable and pipe seal with Press seal lubricant
(GM) (not included in the scope of delivery) (see Fig.
4).
Do not coat the outer sealing surface of the pipe
seal. This must be clean, dry and free of grease.
2
Pass the media line in Press seal the holes provided,
i.e. Press seal on the press seal HRD and push them
together flush with the wall from the outside of the
building into the core drill hole/wall sleeve (see Fig. 5).
7 In a retrofit situation, split the press seal
for pipes that have already been laid
1
To split the press seal, loosen and remove one screw
(see Fig. 6).
The rubber press ring may only be cut open at a
single location so that the standard press seal
opens up and a previously installed pipe can be
laid.
2
Unfold the front and rear press segments and cut
through the rubber press ring at a distance of approx.
10 mm from the screw hole using a sharp knife (see
Fig.: 6).
Key to Fig.: 5
1
Approx. 10 mm distance to the screw hole
3
Apply lubricant to the rubber press ring at the
partition cut.
The front and rear press segments must be offset
(see Fig. 7).
4
Fold the rubber press ring over the already laid media
line and close both press segments.
5
Reassemble the screw, slide ring and nut.
6
Push the Press seal into the core drill hole/wall sleeve
(see Fig. 8).
16
Media lines must be free of any continuous
longitudinal grooves or damage in the sealing
area. (If necessary, move the media lines forward
or backward a little until no more longitudinal
grooves are visible).
► The pipe seal is pressed evenly as soon as the rubber
can be seen and felt in all inspection openings (see
Fig. 8).
7
Tighten screws (internal hex screws) cross-wise and
gradually with max. of 5 turns each until torque is
reached (see Table 1) and the rubber emerges evenly
from all control openings (see Fig.: 9).
8 Installing the closed press seal for pipes to
be newly installed (D = 100 - 200 mm)
from the inside of the building
Assembly is carried out as in Chapter 6, work steps 1 top
2 and Chapter 7, work steps 1 to 5, and only from the
inside of the building.
1
Only push the pipe seal in from the inside of the
building until the outer edge is flush with the core
drill hole/wall sleeve (see Fig. 9).
Media lines must be free of any continuous
longitudinal grooves or damage in the sealing
area. (If necessary, move the media lines forward
or backward a little until no more longitudinal
grooves are visible).
► The pipe seal is pressed evenly as soon as the rubber
can be seen and felt in all inspection openings (see
Fig. 8).
2
Tighten screws (internal hex screws) cross-wise and
gradually with max. of 5 turns each until torque is
reached (see Table 1) and the rubber emerges evenly
from all control openings (see Fig.: 9).
9 Installation of the split press seal for
already installed pipes (D = 250 - 500
mm) from the outside of the building
1
To open the Press seal loosen and remove one screw
at the partition cut (see Fig. 10).
2
Open the front and rear press segments and apply
lubricant to the rubber press ring at the partition cut
(not in the scope of delivery).
3
Coat the cut surfaces and pipe seal surfaces Press seal
with lubricant (GM) (not included in the scope of
delivery).
Do not coat the outer sealing surface of the press
seal. This must be clean, dry and free of grease.
