Adding coal or firewood
Never pour lighter fluid onto hot or warm coal/firewood,
as this can cause a flashback and therefore lead to
serious burn injuries.
It may be necessary to add more charcoal and/or firewood
in order to keep the heat constant over an extended
period.
Prepare some smaller pieces of wood so that you can add
them to the fire basket through the central hole or wok
attachment at regular intervals. Add the wood using a
long-handled barbecue tong and/or oven gloves.
Ash
Once the coal has fully burned, extinguished and cooled,
the inside of the grill can be cleaned with an oven brush.
Any remaining ash will fall through the fire basket into
the ash tray. Observe the following safety measures when
removing the ash tray and emptying the ashes.
Do not empty the ashes until the coal has fully burned and
extinguished and the grill has cooled down.
Never tip hot coal or ash in an area that may be accessed
inadvertently or where there is a fire risk.
Do not remove the ash or coal until they have cooled down
completely. Do not store the grill until the ash or coal has
fully extinguished.
Care instructions for the stainless
steel grill plate
The grill plate is made from a premium stainless steel
material. To maintain the appearance of the grill plate,
clean it after every use with a mild detergent and warm
soapy water, and then wipe it dry with a soft cloth.
Fatty residues may need to be removed with a scouring
pad. Only move the scouring pad in the direction of the
brushed surface to avoid damaging the grill plate. The
high temperatures generated by the grill may cause the
grill plate to change colour. This is normal and does not
constitute a reason for a warranty claim.
