7 Operation
7.1 Setting up the torch body
WARNING
Risk of injury and device damage as a result of improper operation
Non-observance can result in injuries and device damage.
• In the case of a split protective cap, the cap body and spatter protector make up one
functional unit. For safety reasons, the plasma cutting torch equipped with the cap body
must not be used without a spatter protector.
CAUTION
Risk of injury and device damage as a result of improper operation
Non-observance can result in injuries and device damage.
• A loose protective cap presents a hazard and can lead to increased insulator, electrode
and swirl ring wear or even to destruction of the torch body.
• A dirty protective cap in the area of the interior air guide and soiled swirl ring holes
reduce the air throughput and the cooling. This increases the wear to the insulator,
electrode, and swirl ring and can destroy the torch body.
• A worn-out spatter protector must be replaced if required.
