brush or dry cloth. Do not use water or wet the pieces as this may cause
metal parts to rust or even cause imperfections in the paintwork. Never clean
the device when it is hot.
Every certain period, depending on the intensity of use, it is necessary to
conscientiously clean the air vents, removing any residue or soot or ob-
struction. To do that it will be necessary to remove the ash pan, grille and
vermiculite deflectors. Handle the vermiculite with special care, as this is
1
a very fragile material.
When de-sooting the smoke extractor or chimney, it is always necessary to
remove the vermiculite deflectors to prevent any objects from falling between
them and damaging them. This device has vermiculite deflector-strangler (1)
in a piece located at the front part and a second main deflector (2) in two
pieces of vermiculite on the metal support.

4.1.4 Seasonal non-use of the device
For any long period without using the device, such as over the summer season, we recommend that you undertake a thorough
cleaning of the fireplace and de-sooting of the chimney. It is also recommended to close the different air vents (primary, glass and
channels)
4.2 Maintenance instructions for the Technical Assistance Service (TAS)
For the correct functioning of the device it is necessary for a Technical Assistance Service or a professional to carry out the
corresponding maintenance operations. The frequency of these will depend on the intensity of use of the device. Nevertheless,
we recommend that you schedule annual maintenance at the start or end of the cold season.
4.2.1 Cleaning the equipment
In accordance with section 4.1.3, it is necessary to carry out a deep cleaning of the equipment. It must be carried out when the device
is cold, with a brush or dry cloth, and without applying water to metal parts in order to avoid rust.
For the cleaning of the smoke extractor, the vermiculite extractors must be removed to ensure that there is no obstruction or
damage. Vermiculite is a very fragile material, so handle with care.
4.2.2 Replacement of glass seal and door seal
The door of the device has two airtight seals to prevent residue such as ash from entering the room or any filtrations of air to the
interior of the combustion chamber. The first of these is located at the back of the door (cord) and the second between the glass
and the door itself. These seals must be replaced when signs of wear and tear are observed.
To replace the door seal cord, open the door and remove the old seal. Remove any remains of dirt, part of the old seal or adhesive.
Then apply the new seal using heat-resistant silicone.
To replace the seal between the glass (flat cord) and the door, extract the glass as indi-
cated in section 4.2.3 and replaced it removing the remains of the old seal and dirt. Apply
the new seal to the door.
4.2.3 Replacement of glass
The glass must be replaced when it is found to be deteriorated. Remember that this is a
special vitro ceramic glass resistant to high temperatures (750 °C), therefore it is highly
recommended to use original spare parts supplied by TJ Chimeneas y Barbacoas.
To replace the glass, remove the screws from the lower and upper supports of the pane.
Remember the seal should be replaced every time the glass is changed. Apply the new seal
and the glass.
