Assembly of castor wheels
A
Undo the snap-on fasteners and lift the motor block.
B
Turn collecting bin upside down, so that the opening is facing
downwards. First insert the castor wheels into the holes (4),
then press in until they snap into place.
Dry vacuuming
After wet vacuuming, the appliance must be absolutely dry; dry
off the flexible hose or tubes if necessary beforehand.
Never dry vacuum without filters or with damaged
filters.
C
Use the taper filter (17) in addition to the tissue filter bag for
best-possible dust retention. Fit the taper filter (17) on the
underside of the motor head (2). Depending on model, lock at
Pos. 1 or 2 with the swivel clamps. The taper filter (17) can be
rinsed out - to the exclusion of any washing or cleaning
additives - if clogged or given a decline in the suctioning power.
8
Make sure the filter is completely dry before re-using the
vacuum cleaner.
D
Firmly press down the filter bag on the intake connections and
lay against the tank wall.
E
Place the motor block on top and secure it by means of snap-
on fasteners.
F
Connecting the flexible hose. Remove the hose by turning the
hose connecting piece and withdrawing the hose.
Assemble the accessories you require.
Connect the mains cable.
Turn the appliance on with the On/Off switch (5).
Suction control (10) allows you to vary the suction power.
– Sliding air trap closed = full suction power
– Sliding air trap open = reduced suction power
Wet vacuuming
Always remove the filter assembly (figure C+D) before
commencing wet vacuuming, since otherwise the filter
assembly will be ruined. Do not forget to unplug the line
cord before removing the motor housing from the tank.
Liquids stored in drums or other containers may be siphoned off using
the suction hose or suction tubes.
Keep the float valve (18, Fig. E) clean and free at all times. It will
automatically interrupt vacuuming whenever the unit's tank is full.
When you have finished siphoning off liquid, lift the suction hose/tube
out of the liquid and hold its free end up to prevent liquid from running
out before shutting off the unit.
After completion of wet vacuuming, please clean and dry the
appliance and the accessories used.
If unexpected difficulties arise
If your appliance does not operate to your satisfaction, you do not
have to contact customer service straight away. Please check first as to
whether the fault is due one of the following minor causes:
Dust escaping from suction sockets:
• Has the filter system been fitted in accordance with the
instructions?
• Has an original THOMAS filter been used?
Gradual reduction in suction power:
• Are the pores of the tissue filter clogged up by dust or soot?
• Is the collecting bin full?
