Editing with the LANC
cable connection
Tips
¢ If the other VCR has an S-
video connector, connect the
VCRs using an S-video cable.
In this case, you don't need
to connect video jacks.
Jacks indicated as
CONTROL L or REMOTE
have the same function as
the LANC jack. To connect
toa CONTROL L or
REMOTE jack, use the
appropriate cable.
Notes
¢ If you connect a monaural
VCR using the supplied
audio/video cable, you
cannot record both audio
channels at the same time.
Use a 3-phono plug to 2-
phono plug audio/video
cable such as VMC-910HG
or 2-phono plug to 1-phono
plug audio cable such as RK-
C230HG.
¢ Make sure to connect the
plugs to jacks of the same
color.
o
ceas
¢ If you connect both the LINE
IN and LINE OUT jacks of
this VCR to the other VCR,
select the input correctly to
prevent a humming noise.
If the other VCR is equipped with a LANC @ jack, connect the VCRs
with the LANC cable. This additional connection lets you control the
other VCR from this VCR and synchronize the starting and stopping of
the VCRs. This greatly simplifies editing. If the other VCR does not have
a LANC @ jack, see page 16 for instructions on connections.
