SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
The Genesi SCPH Device may only be used with components and devices that are compatible with it and tested,
certified or approved by the manufacturer and connected, if necessary, by means of adapters designed and
manufactured by Genesi and that do not affect the correct functioning and performance of the anchor device.
The fall arrest systems connected to the anchor points of the Genesi SCPH device must be such that they never
generate a force greater than 6kN and the fall clearance must be carefully considered.
Always refer to the instructions of the retractable device (EN360) or the energy absorbing lanyard (EN355) and if
applicable the full body harness for the correct calculation of the fall clearance.
4 ASSEMBLY:
Before proceeding with assembly, ensure that all components are in optimal condition (refer to par. 6) and all present.
Assembly and use must only be carried out in complete safety and by personnel who are suitably trained and
instructed in accordance with the legislation in force in the country of use for the risks from which the device
protects, who have read and understood this manual and are equipped with all the necessary PPE.
Mounting the Genesi SCPH mobile anchor device does not require any specific tools.
1.
(Fig. 2) Remove PIN 1 which locks the stabiliser bar and adjusts the leg height of the SCPH device; lock the bar using
PIN 2. Adjust the leg height (using PIN 1) according to the chosen working configuration.
2.
(Figures 3a - 3b) Connect the arm of the SCPH device to the leg via PIN4
3.
(Figure 3c - 3d) choose the working angle (90° / 120°) with PIN 3
CAUTION: it is advisable to invert the direction of PIN 3 with respect to PIN4 to enhance safety when using the device
4.
(Figure 4) Connect the anchor located on the head of the device with a connector to a type A or type B anchor device
(using webbing if necessary).
CAUTION: the type A or type B anchor device and/or structural element, if any, must be positioned above the hook
CAUTION: all connecting/anchoring elements must have a strength suitable to withstand the loads expected (see
table 3)
5.
(Figures 5a and 5b) Adjust the arm extension to operate at a safe distance from the confined space; once the desired
position is reached, secure it using PIN 5
6.
(Figures 6a and 6b) Block (until recovery operations are carried out), the movement of the swivel head, using PIN 6
ATTENTION: The pins are equipped with a locking tab to increase security that mechanically avoids even accidental exit of the
PIN. However, accidental spillage is made practically impossible when the equipment is assembled in accordance with these
instructions.
Correct PIN insertion and security device reinforcement (Figure 3e):
1 – move the tab back to its seat (A) in the body of the PIN and insert the PIN into position
2 – pull the PIN out on the opposite side and pull the tab out of its seat
3 – turn the tab upwards
5 – push the tab down
6 – move the PIN back until the tab stop and check the correct locking.
WARNING: In case of errors or improper rotation of the PIN, it does not lock. Always perform the test (points 5-6 of 3d image)
At this point the Genesi SCPH Anchor Device is ready and safe for use and for connection of the appropriate fall arrest
system, chosen always considering the limitations and capabilities of the system.
The SCPH anchor device is equipped with one anchor point (Figure 1) to which a fall arrest system can be connected
(if equipped with the optional support 118-3005-05, there are 2 anchor points).
The choice of the most suitable anchor point must be made taking into account the type of work to be carried out and
the geometric characteristics of the devices themselves.
For connecting the fall arrest device to the crane arm:
7.
(Figure 7a - 7b and 7c) Place the appropriate adapter on the connection support (3) and secure the adapter with the
ADAPTER PIN
8.
(Figure 8) Insert the retractable fall arrester into the adapter and fasten it securely according to the requirements of the
device
9.
(Figure 9a - 9b) Pull the cable out of the fall arrester, and passing it through the anchor, place it on the correct pulley
10.
(Figure 10) Secure the cable (to prevent it from accidentally falling out) with the connecting pin PIN 7 and PIN 8
CAUTION: when using the anchor device in recovery operations for operators accessing confined spaces with horizontal access,
it is essential to fit the pulley at PIN 8, which prevents the cable from rubbing against the sharp edges of the accesses.
If two fall arrest or evacuation systems need to be installed, repeat steps 7 to 10
