applying a small amount of material
to the posterior border of the tray

with the tip of the spatula.
After the syringe material has been applied to the teeth/tissues, IMMEDIATELY place the loaded tray into the
patient's mouth. Gently seat the impression tray. Be careful to not over seat the tray. This will assure a seamless
bond of the two materials. During the setting process the tray material will turn to a light blue color.
8. Removal of Impression from the Patient
Wait until the completion of the total recommended setting time (3:45 minutes from the start of mixing the syringe
material) before removing the impression from the patient's mouth. Break the peripheral seal by placing a finger in
the buccal flange area. This will facilitate the removal of the tray and prevent the detachment of the impression
material from the tray. Do not remove tray by only using the tray handle.
9. Cleaning and Disinfection of the Impression
After taking the impression, carefully rinse it in order to remove any traces of saliva, drain off the excess of water
and disinfect it immediately. The impression should be disinfected with hospital-level EPA- registered as tuberculocidal
disinfectant sprays such as Cavicide
for disinfecting the impression.
10. Pouring Up Models
t
After disinfection, carefully rinse to remove any excess impression material and drain off the excess water.
The impression may be poured immediately after disinfection or within 24 hours, provided the impression
is stored in a hermetically sealed bag at room temperature. For the best results, AccuDent XD impression
materials are compatible with all popular type 3 and type 4 dental plasters on the market, such as
Type 3: Dentstone (Heraeus/Modern Materials), Buff Stone (Whip Mix), Type 4: Silky-Rock (Whip Mix),
Resin Rock (Whip Mix) and Type 5: Die-Keen (Heraeus/Modern Materials).
