► Press down on the Ergo-Lever. Make sure it
moves freely and springs back into place
when released.
► Unlock the retaining latch by pushing it for‐
ward and depressing the Ergo-Lever. When
you release the retaining latch, it should
remain unlocked as long as you hold the Ergo-
Lever.
► Insert the battery.
► Hold the blower firmly with one hand on the
control handle. While pushing the retaining
latch forward, squeeze the trigger switch with
your index finger.
The blower should switch on. If it does not,
take the blower to an authorized STIHL servic‐
ing dealer to be repaired before use.
► Release the trigger switch.
The blower should switch off.
If the blower does not switch off after you
release the trigger switch, remove the battery
and take the blower to an authorized STIHL
servicing dealer to be repaired before use.
17 During Operation
17.1
Using the Blower
WARNING
■ To reduce the risk of personal injury, never
work with the blower in the rain or in wet or
damp conditions,
clothing and protective apparel, including
proper eye protection,
air flow toward bystanders. Keep bystanders
at least 16 ft. (5 m) away from the work area,

tion with either the right or left hand.

Preparing for Transportation or
Storage
WARNING
■ To reduce the risk of personal injury from unin‐
tended activation or unauthorized use, switch
off the motor and remove the battery before
transporting the blower or putting it down.
To prepare the blower for transportation or stor‐
age:
► Switch off the blower,
► Remove the battery,
► If the battery or blower became damp or wet
during operation, allow them to dry separately
and completely before charging or storing,

When transporting the blower:
► When transporting the blower by hand, carry it
by the control handle.
► When transporting the blower in a vehicle,
secure and position the blower to prevent turn‐
over, impact and damage.
