INSTALLING THE APPLIANCE (FOR THE INSTALLER)
The product must be installed in its proper position on the basis of the range:
VERT: vertically wall-mounted - STAB: floor-standing.
At the end of the installation, and before filling the appliance with water and powering it up, use a
checking instrument (e.g.: a spirit level) to verify whether the product lies plumb.
The appliance heats water to a temperature below boiling point. It must be linked up to a domestic
water mains sized according to the appliance's performance levels and capacity. Before connecting the
appliance, it is first necessary to:
- Check whether the characteristics (refer to the data plate) meet the customer's requirements.
- Verify that the installation conforms to the IP rating (protection against the penetration of liquids) of the
appliance in accordance with the applicable regulations.
- Read the information on the packaging label and on the appliance's data plate.
This appliance was designed for being installed exclusively inside buildings, in conformity to the
applicable regulations. Moreover, it is important to observe the following precautions relative to:
- Humidity: do not install the appliance in closed (unventilated) and humid rooms.
- Frost: do not install the appliance in rooms where the temperature is likely to drop below critical levels
causing potential frost build-up.
- Sunlight: do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight, even if filtered through windows.
- Dust/vapours/gases: do not install the appliance in environments containing aggressive substances
such as acidic vapours and dust, or rooms saturated with gases.
- Electrical discharges: do not install the appliance directly on power lines that are not protected
against sudden voltage jumps.
- If the appliance is installed in a room lying just above an inhabited space (a loft, attic, false ceiling, etc.),
insulate the piping and fit a retention tank with water drainage.
Connection to the sewage system is compulsory in all instances.
NOTE: To avoid excessive energy consumption, we recommend that the water heater is positioned as
close as possible to the hot water drawing points (recommended distance: no greater than 8 m).
- VERT Vertical model
Position the appliance at least 50 cm from the floor and at least 5 cm from the ceiling to facilitate
maintenance work (Fig. 1). During the appliance's installation, the appliance must never be placed on
the ground on the side of the pipes and/or interface. It should be placed on the supports supplied with
the packaging with the pipes on top. This model can also be installed on a tripod support (optional),
but it must nonetheless be fixed to a load-bearing wall with the upper fixing bracket.
NOTE: verify that the tripod being installed is intended for this water heater model and that it has an
adequate diameter. Only use the original tripod accessory.
- Ultra Grip (VERT models only)
This appliance is equipped with two ergonomic handles to facilitate transport and installation. The
handles can be used only for the initial installation and the appliance can be carried in two different ways,
either horizontally or diagonally (Fig. 4). In both cases, two people are required to handle the product.
- STAB model with base
This appliance is equipped with a factory-installed base. It is important to position the appliance on a
perfectly flat and level surface (floor). Once the suitable installation position has been defined,
anchor the base to the ground using appropriate screws and plugs.
- Advice for installation in bathrooms: it is mandatory to comply with the national rules and standards
in force (NFC 15-100, RGIE, etc.).
- If the water heater is fitted with fixing brackets:
- For each fixing bracket, use 2 wall plugs and 2 dichromate screws (Fischer type) for concrete M10, M12
or M14, 2 EASY FIX devices per bracket.
- Material required for drilling with M10, M12 or M14 diameter.
- Torque wrench.
- Nuts with M10, M12 or M14 diameter and washers with M10, M12 or M14 diameter.
Fasten the support bracket (or brackets) to a load-bearing wall using suitable 10 mm-diameter anchor
bolts and flat steel washers with min. 24 mm - max. 30 mm outer diameter.
