CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
CLEANING YOUR ICE MAKER BEFORE FIRST USE
Before using your ice maker, cleaning it thoroughly is strongly recommended.
To clean:
1.
Open the door.
2.
Clean the interior with diluted detergent, warm water, and a soft cloth.
3.
Thoroughly clean all water-contacting inner parts. The water drainpipe
(indicated by "H" in above illustration) can be removed and used to drain
water from the tank during the cleaning process. Clean the inner ice-
storing cabinet and all other interior parts, then drain the water through
the water drain port located at the back of the unit (indicated as "7" in the
above illustration). Be sure to reinstall the water drainpipe and replace the
cap of the drain port. The unit will not make ice properly if these pieces are
not replaced. It is highly recommended that you discard the ice cubes
made during the first round of ice-making after the first cleaning.
4.
The outside of the ice maker should be cleaned regularly with a mild
detergent solution and warm water.
5.
Dry the interior and exterior with a clean, soft cloth after cleaning.
WARNING: Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operations,
unplug the ice maker from the main power supply. (EXCEPTION: Ice maker self-
cleaning program.)
• Do not use any alcohol or fumes for cleaning or sanitizing the ice maker. This
may cause cracking on the unit's plastic features.
• To ensure proper functioning of your unit, ask a trained service person to
check and clean the condenser at least once a year.
• This appliance must be cleaned by use of a water jet.
CAUTION: If the ice maker has been left unused for a long time, it must be
thoroughly cleaned before the next use. Carefully follow any instructions
provided for cleaning or using sanitizing solution. Do not leave any solution
inside the ice maker after cleaning.
