Cover for cutting
Fit the cover for cutting (24) on the protective guard for
grinding (5) (see figure A): Swivel the lever back (➊). Attach
the cover (24) to the protective guard for grinding (5) (➋).
Press the lever firmly into place again on the protective
guard (5) (➌).
To remove the cover (see figure B), swivel the lever back
(➊). Remove the cover (24) from the protective guard (5)
(➋).
Extraction guard for cutting with a cutting guide
Place the extraction guard for cutting with a guide
carriage (18) on the spindle collar. Adjust the position of the
extraction guard (18) to meet the requirements of the oper-
ation. Secure the extraction guard (18) with the locking
screw. A suitable Bosch dust extractor can be connected to
the extraction guard with a cutting guide (18). To do so, in-
sert the vacuum hose with dust extraction adapter into the
provided receiving connection of the extraction guard.
Hand guard
Always fit the hand guard (19) when working with the
u
rubber sanding pad (20) or with the cup brush/conical
brush/diamond annular cutter.
Attach the hand guard (19) to the auxiliary handle (3)/(28).
Standard auxiliary handle/low-vibration auxiliary handle
Screw the auxiliary handle (3)/(28) on the right or left of the
machine head depending on the working method.
Do not operate your power tool without the auxiliary
u
handle (3)/(28).
Do not continue to use the power tool if the auxiliary
u
handle (3)/(28) is damaged. Do not make any altera-
tions to the auxiliary handle (3)/(28).
The low-vibration auxiliary handle
(28) reduces vibration, enabling the
tool to be used safely and more com-
fortably.
Fitting the abrasive tools
Do not touch grinding and cutting discs until they have
u
cooled down. The discs can become very hot while work-
ing.
Clean the grinding spindle (16) and all the parts to be fitted.
Lock the grinding spindle with the spindle lock button (1)
before clamping and releasing the abrasive tools.
Do not press the spindle lock button while the grind-
u
ing spindle is moving. The power tool may become dam-
aged if you do this.
Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
u
work on the power tool.
Grinding/cutting disc
Pay attention to the dimensions of the abrasive tools. The
diameter of the hole must match that of the mounting flange.
Do not use an adapter or reducer.
When using diamond cutting discs, ensure that the arrow in-
dicating the direction of rotation on the diamond cutting disc
1 609 92A 9L8 | (11.04.2024)
matches the direction of rotation of the power tool (see the
direction of rotation arrow on the machine head).
See the graphics page for fitting instructions.
Note: When assembling bonded grinding or cutting discs us-
ing the supplied mounting flange (7) and the clamping
nut (11) or quick-clamping nut (12), the use of intermediate
layers is not necessary.
To secure the grinding/cutting disc, place the mounting
flange with O-ring (7) on the grinding spindle (16) and
screw on the clamping nut (11). Ensure the alignment of the
clamping nut (11) depending on the grinding/cutting disc
used (see figures in the front part of the operating manual),
and tighten them with the two-pin spanner (see " Quick-
clamping nut
", page 22).
After fitting the abrasive tool, check that the abrasive
u
tool is fitted correctly and can turn freely before
switching on the power tool. Make sure that the abras-
ive tool does not brush against the protective guard or
other parts.
A plastic part (O-ring) is fitted around
the centring collar in the mounting
flange (7). If the O-ring is missing or
damaged, the mounting flange (7)
must be replaced before operation
can resume.
Quick-clamping nut
To change the abrasive tool easily without having to use any
additional tools, you can use the quick-clamping nut (12) in-
stead of the clamping nut (11).
The quick-clamping nut (12) may be used only for
u
grinding or cutting discs.
Only use quick-clamping nuts (12) that are in good work-
ing order and not damaged.
When screwing on, make sure that the printed side of the
quick-clamping nut (12) is not facing the grinding disc;
the arrow must be pointing towards the index mark (29).
Press the spindle lock button (1) to
(29)
lock the grinding spindle. To tighten
the quick-clamping nut, turn the grind-
ing disc firmly clockwise.
