Layout and installation
CAUTION!
The protective conductor must be connected for all versions with mains
voltage. The guidelines of the local energy utility companies must also be
observed.
The cable lengths of the digital inputs must not exceed 30 m.
Supply and connector line specifications:
M12 cable glands (without reducers), diameter 3.5 to 7 mm.
n
n
M16 cable glands (without reducers), diameter 4.5 to 10 mm.
– The supply line must comply with the IEC 60227 or IEC 60245 standard.
– The connector lines must comply with the standards and regulations set out
in UL 2556 and IEC 60332-1-2.
Auxiliary power connection
The LMI03 can be operated with three different supply voltages.
Article number 10240763

Auxiliary power:
– 230 V / 50–60 Hz
– 115 V / 50–60 Hz
– 24 V / DC
When operating the unit with 230 V / 50–60 Hz or 115 V / 50–60 Hz, no
external peripherals, such as pumps or valves, may be supplied via the internal
24 V / DC voltage.
Relay outputs SP1, SP2, fault messages and pre-proportioning
For devices that are to be supplied via the internal terminals of the LMI03, the
following requirements must be met:
– The impedance between the protective conductor connection and any
touchable part requiring a protective connection must not exceed 0.1
Ω. Conformity must be measured with a test current of min. 25A. The
impedance is then calculated from this. If this cannot be guaranteed,
separate earthing must be provided.
– The protective conductor connections of the connected devices must have
a current-carrying capacity at least equivalent to the mains circuit of the
LMI03. A minimum current-carrying capacity of 18A must be maintained.
– Each device must be individually fused so that the maximum permissible
current of 8 A for SP1 and 4 A for SP2, pre-proportioning and fault
messages cannot be exceeded.
The relay outputs SP1 and SP2, the fault message output and the pre-proportioning
output are designed as zero-potential changeover contacts.
Contact jumpers can be used between terminals X1/6 and X1/7, X1/10, X1/13 and X1/16
to connect the contacts to the auxiliary power.
