with household waste material
USE
Combined switch for on/off and speed control A 7
- control the speed steplessly from zero to maximum by
putting less or more pressure on the trigger A 8
Charging battery
! read the safety warnings and instructions
provided with the charger
Removing/installing the battery 2

within the allowable operating temperature range
Battery protection
The tool is suddenly being switched off or prevented from
being switched on, when
- the load is too high --> remove load and restart
- the battery temperature is not within the allowable
operating temperature range of -20 to +50°C --> 2
levels of the battery level indicator start flashing when
pressing button G 9 c; wait until battery has returned
within the allowable operating temperature range
- the battery is nearly empty (to protect against
deep discharge) --> a low battery level or flashing low
battery level 9 b is shown by the battery level indicator
when pressing button G; charge battery
! do not continue to press the on/off switch after the
tool is switched off automatically; battery may be
damaged
LED-lightq
LED-light automatically lights on when activating the on/

used with a universal bit holder with ball catch
! do not use bits with a damaged shank
Changing direction of rotation e
- when not properly set in left/right position, switch A 2
cannot be activated
! change direction of rotation only when tool is at a
complete standstill
Mode selection r
- press the speed button E to select the desired
tightening or loosening mode when the tool is set to
forward or reverse rotation:
Low speed mode r a
- tightening or loosening with less force and low speed
- for smaller screws
High speed mode r b
- tightening or loosening with high force and speed
- for large screws and bolts
! modes can only be changed after slightly pressing
the on/off switch (LED(s) are activated) and when
the tool is at a complete standstill
Holding and guiding the tool t
! while working, always hold the tool at the grey-

APPLICATION ADVICE
Use the appropriate bits
When turning in a screw at/near the cross cut end or an
edge of wood, pre-drill a hole in order to avoid cracking
of the wood
When screwdriving in hard wood one should pre-drill a
hole
When tightening a screw, do not over-tighten. As the
force of the impact driver can break the fastener. Hold
the tool aligned with the screw to prevent damage to the
head of the fastener.
The torque depends on the impact duration. Maximum
torque is achieved after an impact duration of 6-10
seconds.
! always check tightening torque with a torque
driver
For an optimal use of the tool a steady pressure on the
screw is required, especially while removing a fastener.

MAINTENANCE / SERVICE
Always keep tool clean (especially ventilation slots D 2 )
! remove battery from tool before cleaning
If the tool should fail despite the care taken in
manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should
be carried out by an after-sales service centre for SKIL
power tools
- send the tool undismantled together with proof of
purchase to your dealer or the nearest SKIL service
station (addresses as well as the service diagram of the
tool are listed on www.skil.com)
Be aware that damage due to overload or improper
handling of the tool will be excluded from the warranty
(for the SKIL warranty conditions see www.skil.com or
ask your dealer)
