Checking start of delivery for distrib-
utor pumps with pre-stroke specifica-
tions
i
Voltage is supplied to the solenoid valve of the injec-
tion pump via the connection cables.
1. Fix the pre-stroke measuring device with the appro-
priate extension and dial gauge to the central screw
plug.
2. Insert the tommy bar into the flywheel. Manually,
crank the distributor injection pump until the dis-
tributor piston is at bottom dead center.
3. Pressurize the dial gauge to 4
The tommy bar used to rotate the flywheel
by hand must not be left inserted in the
locating holes of the flywheel!
4. Crank the distributor pump by hand until the distrib-
utor piston is at bottom dead center again.
5. Set the dial gauge to zero.
6. Set the oil supply to the appropriate low pressure
by rotating the hand wheel on the control valve in a
clockwise direction.
The pressure in the supply line can be read on the
low pressure gauge. Test oil flows out of the over-
flow pipe on the measuring device.
7. Slowly rotate the drive shaft in the direction of rota-
tion until start of delivery.
i
Start of delivery is confirmed when one drop per
second of test oil flows out of the overflow pipe.
8. Read the dial gauge and compare the reading with
the set point value indicated on the test sheet.
9. Correct any deviations below the piston flow using
the appropriate shims.
