Alternative cleaning and disinfecting procedure
1. Remove any accessories from the facepiece and clean them separately
2. Prepare a solution consisting of water and combined agent.
3. Immerse the facepiece in the solution. Make sure that all parts are wetted.
4. Thoroughly rinse all parts under running water.
5. Dry all parts in the air or in a drying cabinet (max. temperature:
140 °F/60 °C). Do not expose to direct sunlight. Do not shake the facepiece
in order to remove water.
6. Mount the accessories if necessary.

Maintenance work
4.3.1
Visual Inspection
1. Check if the full facepiece is complete and functions correctly.
2. Check the exhalation valve:
a. Remove the exhalation valve cover from the mask connector and pull
out the valve disc.
The valve disc and seat must be clean and undamaged.
b. Clean or replace if necessary. Moisten the valve disc with water before
fitting it.

Maintenance work
1. Carry out both a visual inspection and a leak test after any maintenance
work.

4.3.3
Replacing the visor
1. Mask with metal visor frame: Grip the hexagonal nuts and unscrew the
screws.
2. Mask with plastic visor frame: Unscrew the screws. Pry the visor frame apart
with a screwdriver at the connecting points, then pull it off to the top and
bottom.
3. Remove the connector clamp, sliding ring and support if necessary.

4. Detach the old visor from its rubber frame.
5. Insert a new visor, first in the upper half and then in the lower half of the
rubber frame.
The center marks on the visor must be aligned with the seam on the
facepiece.
6. Draw the rubber frame over the edge of the visor on the right and left.
7. Moisten the outside of the rubber frame and the inside of the visor frame
with soap solution.
8. Fit first the upper, then the lower visor frame.
9. Put support between connector clamp and sliding ring if necessary, clamp it
to the bottom visor frame and align it.
10. Mask with metal visor frame: Screw the screws into the hexagonal nuts and
tighten until the gap between the clamp lobes is between 3 and 0.5 mm.
11. Mask with plastic visor frame: Insert and tighten the screws.
4.3.4
Replacing a nose cup valve disc
1. Pull out the old valve disc towards the inside.
2. Insert the stud of the new disc into the hole from inside, and pull it towards
the visor until the undercut of the stud is visible.
The valve disc should make even contact with the inside surface.

Replacing the exhalation valve disc
1. Remove the exhalation valve cover from the mask connector.
2. Pull out the valve disc.
The valve disc and seat must be clean and undamaged. Clean or replace if
necessary.
3. Moisten valve disc with water and refit.
4. Refit the exhalation valve cover so that it engages.
