operation manual thoroughly before using this instrument for the first time. The information contained herein
will help you to achieve accurate and reproducible results and to avoid misuse or damages.
The stroboscope serves the purpose of observing fast, repeated motions of machines and their moving
components in industrial environments. It should be operated solely by those who have made themselves
familiar with it beforehand, and have read the safety precautions carefully.

1.0 Safety Precautions

The stroboscopes are designed for use in normal environmental conditions. Do not operate the
instrument in explosive areas.
Dust, water, chemicals or other kinds of contamination may cause serious permanent damages
when they enter the housing. Please consult the section "Technical Data" for appropriate
environmental conditions, as well as the specified protection code (IP Code).
Attention ! Do not look at the emitted light or aim the stroboscope towards others, as it may be
harmful to the eyes.
The fast flashing sequences may cause seizure for those suffering epilepsy.
Stroboscopes convey the effect, as if the illuminated object were staying still or were moving very
slowly. Never touch the seemingly still object or machine component, directly or with a tool, as
long as you are operating the stroboscope.

An additional rechargeable battery pack (Part No.:
SMS-932) boosts its expected useful life. For longer
observations on the same spot, it is recommendable
to purchase a tripod (Part No.: SMS-942).
Danger! High voltage! Do not disassemble the instrument. Certain components
keep voltage also after disconnection of the instrument from external or
internal power sources. Please consult the section "8.0 Maintenance" before
changing the flash tube.
