Description of accessories
Load Chain
The load chain is designed for a long service and maximum safety. It is made of surface hardened, zinc
plated and blue chromated high grade special steel.
The load chain needs lubrication before use and on regular intervals, see the Warnings and Maintenance
sections.
Chain collectors
The chain collectors are reinforced with PVC cloth or sheet steel.
Chain stop
A chain stop can be fitted to stop the hoist at a predetermined position.
Safety hook
A safety hook (cannot be opened under load) can be fitted for additional lifting safety.
Overload protection device
The overload protection device can be fitted to avoid unintentional hoist overload. When the hoist is over-
loaded, the device automatically reduces motor output.
It is supplied as a standard for lifting capacities of 1 000 kg, 2 500 kg and 5 000 kg. The overload protec-
tion device is an Optional accessory for loads below 1 000 kg.
Controlling the hoist
The hoist can be controlled in three different ways; Standard, Twist rod or Pendant.
■ Standard chain control
Standard versions of LLA hoists include a chain control handle.
■ Twist rod control
Twist rod control offers the highest level of precision. Adjustable length (1 to 2 meters) or for special
extension rod (up to 5 meters).
■ Pendant control
Remote Pendant controls are used to extend the operating area up to 10 meters from the hoist. Atlas
Copco offers two versions; a two–button unit for hoist or trolley control, and a four– button unit for hoist
and trolley control. Both are equipped with a safety stop button.
Horizontal mobility with Trolleys
Explosion proof trolleys for risk free horizontal mobility are available in narrow or wide, manual or motor-
ized versions. They are flexible and simple to install. They are also equally suitable for parallel or tapered
I–beams and easily adjusted to different widths.

Service recommendations
Preventive maintenance is recommended at regular intervals. See the detailed information on preventive
maintenance. If the product is not working properly, take it out of service and inspect it.
If no detailed information about preventive maintenance is included, follow these general guidelines:
■ Clean appropriate parts accurately
■ Replace any defective or worn parts
