required, then no individual anchor points should be used, but
rather a system according to EN 795 class D (track) or C (rope)
should be used, for example (Fig. 3.7).
Pay attention to loose strap ends / do not use for tying / do not knot
the suspension element / always close carabiners properly. Safety
carabiners and/or connecting elements must always be protected
against transverse and buckling loads. The fall arrester should only
be used as intended and not, for example, as a guy rope, i.e. do not
hold onto the fall arrester or pull yourself up on it (Fig. 3.8 - 3.14).
Retractable fall arresters must not be used to protect people over
bulk goods or other similar materials you can sink into (Fig. 3.15).
4.) Vertical use
To minimise a swinging fall, the anchor point should, wherever
possible, be perpendicular above the person. The clear height
required under the floor or platform is calculated based on the
individual system factors (see Fig. 4.1): Fall arrester braking
distance (∆l) + safety distance (1m) + possible expansion of the
stop system (see manufacturer's body harness instructions for use)

5.) Fall display device
The device features an additional fall display. This allows the
device's condition to be checked.
If the fall display is „green", then there is sufficient reserve for a full
fall with maximum weight.
If carabiner or display are red:
A device damaged and/or stressed as a result of a fall, or if there
are any doubts regarding the safety of the device, then it must be
taken out of use immediately. Only after it has been checked and its
suitability confirmed in writing by a competent person or the
manufacturer should it continue being used.
6.) Care and maintenance:
Well-maintained protective equipment and safety systems last
longer!
The rope / webbing should only be rolled up under tension.
Under no circumstances should you pull the rope / webbing all
the way out and then release it, since the snap-back of the
carabiner against the device can cause the return spring to
break (see Fig. 3.2).
For a prolonged service life of all retractable fall arresters that
are constantly exposed to the elements, regular and complete
