3.5 Neutral safety switch + tilt installation (optional)
This device (optional) allows the start of the engine only with the lever in the position "neutral", preventing the
boat from moving in a wrong way and at the same time, by using the switch on the lever, it allows to control
the tilt of the engine.
To assembly, proceed as follows:
Secure the X48 safety switch with screw (1), washer (2) and nut (3) (included in the X48 kit), as shown in
the picture.
NOTICE
Keep the screw head on the switch surface.
For the correct operation of the X48 safety switch, proceed as
follows:
1) before starting the engine, check that the
switch is installed correctly.
2) move the lever back and forth (from the
NEUTRAL position) and check that the
device switches.
3) wire the switch paying particular attention
to electrical diagrams and connections.
4) start the engine and verify that the
system works properly.
CAUTION
When the lever is in NEUTRAL position, both circuits must be closed; when it is in a different position,
the circuits must be open.
WARNING
If the engine switches on when the lever is not in NEUTRAL position, check the entire wiring. Misuse,
unauthorized modifications, or incorrect installation of this neutral safety device can cause serious or
even fatal physical injury.
