- The self-cleaning welding fume filter functions only if the
harmful fumes and particles are blown directly through an
extraction fan into the filter. Therefore, never connect the
Statiflex 400-MS to the suction opening of the extraction fan.
- The Statiflex 400-MS must only be connected to the
recommended junction box (CB).
- The self-cleaning welding fume filter has been designed to be
used in a configuration with only one extraction arm and
one extraction fan (SF 2400). Never connect the Statiflex
400-MS to more than one extraction arm or extraction fan.
- Air containing particles such as chromium, nickel, beryllium,
cadmium, lead, etc., which is a health hazard, should never
be recycled.
- The product may be used for extracting and/or filtering
fumes and gases which are released during the following
welding processes:
- MIG/MAG solid wire (GMAW);
- MIG/MAG flux cored wire (FCAW);
- stick welding (MMA or SMAW);
- TIG (GTAW) welding;
- autogeneous welding.
- Never use the product for extracting dust particles which are
released when welding surfaces treated with primer.
- Never use the product for extracting and/or filtering fumes
and gases which are released during the following (welding)
processes:
- arc-air gouging;
- oil mist;
- paint mist;
- heavy oil mist in welding fumes;
- hot gases (more than 40°C/104°F continuously);
- aggressive fumes (such as acids);
- plasma cutting;
- grinding aluminium and magnesium;
- flame cutting;
- extraction of cement, saw dust, wood dust, etc.;
- sucking cigarettes, cigars, oiled tissues and other burning
particles, objects and acids;
- in all situations where explosions can occur.
(This list is not a limited list.)
- Never switch on the product without prefilter box and filter.
- Wait approximately 10 seconds after switching off the motor
of the connected extraction fan before dismounting the filter.
Service, maintenance and repairs
This manual clearly makes a distinction between
service maintenance and repair jobs which have to
be carried out by the user and those which have to
be exclu s ively carried out by well-trained and
authorised service engineers.
- Observe the maintenance intervals given in this manual.
Overdue maintenance can lead to high costs for repairs and
revisions and can render the guarantee null and void.
- Always use tools, parts, materials, lubricants and service
techniques which have been approved by the manufacturer.
Never use worn tools and do not leave any tools in or on the
product.
- Safety features which have been removed for service,
maintenance or repairs, must be put back immediately after
finishing these jobs and it must be checked that they still
function properly.
- Regularly clean the inside of the housing.
- Replace the filters in time.
- Empty the dust barrel in time.
- Prevent improper use of the filter cover of the Statiflex
400-MS as work bench or welding table.
