hydraulic pump.
2. Lower the operating levers (left and right control handles) to lower the splitting knife (wedge) onto
the log and to start the splitting process.
3. Release both handles to return the splitting knife (wedge) to the upper position.
4. Remarks:
- Do not release the operating levers (control handles) until the cylinder travel cycle is completely
over and the log is split.
- Releasing either lever will stop the motion of the splitting knife (wedge).
- to move the splitting knife (wedge) back to its upper position, you can either press downwards on the
return bracket or push upwards both control handles.
NOTE: If the splitter arm does not move after the machine is turned on, please check the direction of
the rotation of the motor immediately.
5.7- Upon completion of work
Upon completing your work:
- Bring the ram / wedge to its lower position.
- Release one of the control arms.
- Switch the machine off and unplug machine from power source.
- Tighten the bleed screw.
- Follow and respect the general maintenance and cleaning instructions.
5.8- Tips:
When the ambient temperature is below -5°C: let the log splitter run for at least 5-10 minutes with no
load so that the oil can heat.
Never force the log splitter for more than 5 seconds by keeping pressure on it to split
excessively hard wood! After this time interval, the oil under pressure will be overheated and the
machine could be damaged.
For such extremely hard log, rotate it by 90° to see whether it can be split in a different direction.
In any case, if you are not able to split the log, this means that its hardness exceeds the capacity of the
machine and thus that log should be removed to protect the log splitter and cut using other tools.
Do not attempt to split green logs.
Dry, seasoned logs split much more easily, and will not jam as frequently as green wood.
Never attempt to split logs containing nails, metals parts or any other hard piece.
Only split logs whose length is smaller than the capacity of the machine (refer to specifications).
Set and split the log in the direction of its growing grain.
Do not place the log across the log splitter for splitting. It may be dangerous and may seriously damage
the machine.
Do not attempt to split 2 pieces of logs at the same time. One of them may fly up and hit you.
Stack as you work. This will provide a safer work area, by keeping it uncluttered, and avoid the danger
of tripping, or damaging the power cord.
Accumulated split wood and wood chips can create a hazardous work environment. Never continue to
work in a cluttered work area which may cause you to slip, trip or fall. Keep your work area clean and tidy.
