PULSE / SYNERGIC control panels
Display of voltage
5
Trim voltage
Arc-adjust
Seam average
Normally, the requested voltage or arc-adjust is shown
in the display in MIG/MAG, whilst measured voltage is
always displayed in MMA. The measured voltage is shown
during welding.
Voltage in volt
6
Set voltage is shown in the display when the machine
is not welding. The voltage can be set between 10 V and
65 V. However, in MMA the voltage is not adjustable.
Measured voltage is shown during welding.
Voltage trim (synergic MIG)
7
The welding voltage can be adjusted in intervals
determined by the welding program selected in synergic
MIG/MAG. Measured voltage is shown during welding.
Arc-adjust (MIG/MAG)
8
Arc-adjust (electronic choke) makes it possible to
adjust the speed of reaction to shortcircuits. Arc-adjust
can be set in steps from -5.0 to +5.0.
Seam average
9
When the arc is extinguished, current and voltage
indicators are switched on. The seam average
indicator is switched on. Mean value for current and
voltage for the last 10 sec. welding are displayed for 5
seconds or until the control knobs are turned.
Lock symbol
10
Lock:
Insert the SD lock card and choose "1", "2"
or "All" using the right control knob.
Unlock: Reinsert the SD lock card to unlock the
control panel. For detail information, see
instruction manual (50115024).
Temperature fault
11
The indicator flashes, when the power source is over-
heated.
Mixed transfer
12
(only synergic welding programs)
The indicator is switched on and warns about the setting
area as it lies within mixed transfer with risk of welding
spatter.
Fault indicator
13
see instruction manual (50115024).
Selecting sequences
14
Press and hold down the key to open the sequence
function. Turn the right control knob to select
number of sequences. Press the key briefly to close the
sequence function.
Change sequences by briefly activating the torch trigger
or pressing the key. Deactivate the sequence function by
adjusting number of sequences to 0.
Tack welding (Synergic MIG/MAG)
15
The key pad enables change from the actual
welding program to tack welding. Sequence,
hotstart and slope-down are not possible to set in tack
welding. The function has its own current value. The
trigger mode is always two-times in tack welding.
Duo PLUS
(Synergic MIG/MAG)
TM
16
Duo PLUS
pulsates the wire and enables welding
TM
with "slow pulse" as seen in many TIGmachines.
This welding method can be seen as a line of partly
overlapping welding spots which results in a characteristic
welding seam similar to a TIG-welding seam.
The advantage with this functions is that the weld pool
is reduced and the penetration ability is increased even
though the welding speed is maintained. The welding
method is a big advantage where there are special
requirements for controlling the weld pool, e.g. when
joining different material thicknesses.
Pulse welding
17
MIG pulse welding on/off.
Selecting trigger mode
18
Trigger mode can be selected in MIG/MAG. When
the indicator is on, 4-times has been selected and
when the indicator is off, 2-times has been selected.
Trigger mode cannot be changed during welding.
2-times:
Welding starts when the torch trigger is held down. To
end welding, the torch trigger is released and burn back
starts. It is possible to trigger the machine again during
post flow.
4-times:
Welding starts when the torch trigger is held down. The
trigger can then be released and welding continues. To
end welding the torch trigger is held down again and
burn back starts.
Setting secondary parameters
Press and hold the key at the right control
knob (4A) to open for setting the secondary
parameters. Turn the left control knob (1) to select
parameter and turn the right control knob (4) to set
values for the selected parameter. Press the key at the
right control knob (4A) to close this function. Press the
-key (18) briefly to turn display of Fxx (F = function)
parameter names on/off.
MMA hot-start (MMA)
MMA hot-start helps establish the
arc when welding starts. When the electrode touches
the work material, the welding current automatically
increases. The increased start current is held for a fixed
time, after which it drops to the value, which has been set
for the welding current. The hot-start value indicated the
percentage value with which the start current is increased.
It can be set between 0 and 100 % of the set current.
Hot-start time (MMA)
Hot-start time determines the time in
which welding in hot-start takes place. The time can be
set between 0.0 and 20.0 sec.
