4.3 SURVEY YOUR AREA
1. Familiarize yourself with the area in which you plan to operate the
snowthrower. Mark off all boundaries of walkways and driveways.
2. Ensure the area to be cleared is free of debris or objects that could be
picked up by the auger and thrown from the chute.

Ensure the operating area is clear of bystanders, especially children. Be
alert and turn the unit off if bystanders enter the area. Use extra care when
approaching blind corners, shrubs, tress, or other objects that may obscure
vision.
