4.1
Setup
Remove the unit and accessories from the shipping box
Check the delivery for completeness (compare with the "Scope of delivery")
The extraction unit is a standing device Do not operate it on its side
In particular, after mounting the roller set (see accessories), the suction unit may only be operated
standing on the floor.
Place the extraction unit so that:
• The exhaust air outlet is not blocked
• The front is easily accessible for removing the dust drawer
When inserting the new fine filter, pay attention to correct seating, as otherwise leaks will occur.
- Circle:
at least 120 mm diameter
- Rectangle: at least 170 x 65 mm
If the warm exhaust air is transported out of the cabinet to the rear through openings, it must be ensured
that the warm exhaust air can escape from there unhindered
4.2
Connection to the suction point
Caution: Risk of injury!
When shortening the suction hose, make sure to cut the integrated wire as straight as possible.
Long suction hoses, tight bends and kinks greatly reduce the suction power at the suction point.
⇒ Shorten the suction hose if necessary
⇒ Plug the suction tube into the suction socket (Fig 1)
⇒ Connect the suction tube to the correct suction point
If the diameter is not suitable, use an adapter (see Accessories) to avoid loss of suction.
Avoid steep inclines and "sagging" along the hose.
Never operate the Silent TS without an extraction hose.
4.3
Electrical connection
Prior to electrical connection, check that the voltage indicated on the nameplate matches the local
voltage supply.
Ensure that the layout of live parts (socket, plug and coupling) and extension cables are arranged so that
the protection class is maintained
• Unroll the power cord
• Press the OFF switch (Fig 2a)
• Plug the power cord into the wall outlet (Fig 3)
4.4
Connecting the Electrical Devices
For the connection of dust-generating devices, a socket for two-pole plugs with protective contact
(according to DIN 49441 or NEMA) (N, Fig 4) is located on the rear of the device
For devices with 230 V nominal voltage and socket according to DIN 49441, a suitable plug is included
(Fig. 32). With the help of this plug, an adapter can be made to the country-specific connector system.
This adapter may only be manufactured by an electrotechnical specialist!
The protective conductor system must not be interrupted by the adapter!
The device socket carries voltage as soon as the Silent TS is connected to the power supply, even
if it is switched off. This means that short jobs can be carried out even without operating the ex-
traction system.
When connecting electrical appliances to the suction unit, ensure that the maximum permissible
power for connected devices is not exceeded (see chapter 8, Technical data).
