• The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the
terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black, the
wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal
which is marked L or coloured red.
• This appliance must be protected by a suitable fuse.
• To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this product to rain/
water or moisture.
• There are no user serviceable parts inside except those referred to
in this manual. Always refer servicing to qualified service personnel.
Never remove any part of the casing unless qualified to do so; this
unit contains dangerous voltages.
• Use of a residual current device (RCD) will reduce the risk of
electric shock.
NEVER CONNECT THE BROWN OR BLUE WIRE TO THE EARTH PIN OF THE

Dangerous environment
•
Do not use power tools in damp or wet conditions, or expose them to rain.
Provide adequate surrounding work space and keep area well lit. Do not
use power tools where there is a risk of explosion or fire from combustible
material, flammable liquids, flammable gases, or dust of an explosive
nature. When using power tools avoid contact with any earthed items such
as pipes, radiators, cookers, refrigerators, metal baths and taps.
Protect yourself from vibration
•
Hand held power tools may produce vibration. Vibration can cause
disease. Gloves to keep the operator warm may help to maintain good
blood circulation in the fingers. Hand held tools should not be used for
long periods without a break.
Maintain your power tool
•
Ensure all ventilation holes are kept clear at all times. Overheating and
fire may otherwise result.
Always disconnect
•
Before changing fittings or accessories, always ensure that your tool is
disconnected from the power source.
Switch off before connecting
•
Ensure that the power tool is switched off before connecting to the power
source. If the power tool stops unexpectedly, turn the power switch to off.
Do not abuse the power cord
•
Be sure your cable or extension cable is in good condition. Always have
a damaged cable or extension cable replaced at an authorised service
centre before using it. Never yank or pull the cable to disconnect it from
the power socket. Never carry your tool by its cable. Keep the cable away
from damp, heat, oil, solvents, and sharp edges.
Don't leave the tool running unattended
•
Always wait until your tool has completely stopped functioning, and has
been unplugged, before leaving it.

Before Use
• Carefully unpack and inspect this product. Fully familiarise yourself with
all features/functions of the tool.
• Ensure that all parts of your power drill are present and in good condition.
If any part is missing, or damaged, have such parts replaced before
attempting to use this tool.
Operating Instructions
Side handle
• The side handle (3) should always be used when drilling.
• Always hold the drill firmly using both hands.
• The side handle can be adjusted to best suit the work to be performed.
• To adjust the side handle, rotate the handle grip anti-clockwise, this
will loosen the handle assembly. Move the side handle to the required
position, and secure by rotating the handle grip clockwise.
Operating the chuck
• The SDS system allows the tool to move within the chuck. This means
that it is unnecessary to tighten the tool into the chuck.
• To fit a tool to the machine, first grease the tail end of the fitting. Tools
should always be greased, and free from dirt/dust before use. Pull back
the chuck collar (2), and hold. Push and rotate the tool into the chuck (1),
as far as it will go. Release the chuck collar.
• The tool should now be locked into the machine, check by pulling the
tool. If the tool can be removed, repeat the above procedure until the tool
is held securely.
• To remove a tool from the chuck, pull the chuck collar back, and hold.
The tool can then be removed from the machine.
On/off switch
• To start the drill, squeeze the on/off switch (4).
• To stop the drill, release the on/off switch.
Speed control
• The speed of the drill can be varied between 0 and 800RPM. The speed
is adjusted by rotating the speed control dial (5)
Hammer selection
• The drill can be used in either hammer drill mode (for masonry work), or
conventional rotary drill mode (for wood, metal etc).
• To select hammer drilling mode, rotate the hammer selection switch (6)
to the left.
• To select rotary drilling mode, rotate the hammer selection switch
to the right.
• Do not attempt to move the hammer selection switch whilst the
drill is running.
• Do not attempt to run the drill with the hammer selection switch
in a mid position.
Rotation Selection
• The drill can be used in either rotation mode (for drilling), or roto-stop
mode (for chiselling).
• To select rotation mode, twist the rotation selection switch (7) to the left.
• To select roto-stop mode, twist the rotation selection switch to the right.
• Do not attempt to move the rotation selection switch whilst the drill is
running.
• Do not attempt to run the drill with the rotation selection switch in a mid
position.
Drilling concrete
• Using hammer drill mode, and rotation mode, apply pressure to the rear
of the drill, in line with the drill bit.
• For efficient drilling, it is advisable to use TCT (tungsten carbide) drill bits.
Ensure that drill bit size is within the maximum capacity of the drill (see
specifications above).
• Do not apply too much pressure if debris blocks the drill hole. Run the
drill slowly, and remove the bit from the hole. Repeat until hole is cleared.
