Never use replacement parts or
accessories not supplied by the
manufacturer.
If the cutter bar is damaged, it
must be replaced due to the
associated problems with
imbalance. For safety reasons,
the cutter bar must only be
replaced at the service centres
approved by the manufacturer
or by specialist dealers.
9.3. Maintenance Work on the
Motor
(Please read the notes provided by
the motor manufacturer. The origi-
nal operating instructions are sup-
plied with your lawnmower.)
Oil Change
Warning! Always change
A
the oil when the motor is
warm, the fuel tank is empty and
closed with the fuel cap.
Briggs & Stratton Motor and
Honda Motor
The oil must be changed for the
first time after 5 operating hours.
Additional oil changes are then
required every 50 operating hours.
If you do not operate your lawn-
mower for 50 hours within 1 year,
change the oil at the end of the
mowing season. To do this, open
the oil filler pipe and tilt the mower
so that the old oil can run out into
a collector. Dispose of the old oil
properly according to local regula-
tions. Stand your mower so that it
is horizontal again and fill with
motor oil 10 W 30 (see Putting
Your Lawnmower into Operation).
Clean and Check the Spark Plug
Clean dirty spark plugs with a
brass brush and rag. Check the
electrode gap.

Specified value:
For Briggs & Stratton motor:
0.75 mm,
For Honda motor:
0.7 – 0.8 mm.
If the spark plug is extremely worn,
install a new spark plug.
Clean the Air Filter
Briggs & Stratton Motor
Warning! The air filter must
A
be cleaned every 3 months
or after 25 operating hours,
whichever comes first. If the filter
becomes very dusty it must be
cleaned more frequently.
Remove the bolt, pull the complete
air filter housing to the side or for-
wards. Please make sure that for-
eign objects cannot fall into the
carburettor. Then lift off the cover
upwards.
Disassemble the complete air filter
and clean all the parts.
Maintaining the Foam Element:
Wash the foam element in liquid
detergent and water (replace with
a new foam element if it is very
dirty or damaged). Press dry in a
clean cloth. Soak the foam element
in motor oil. Press out in a clean
cloth to remove the excess oil.
Install all the parts again in the
reverse order and fasten securely
to the carburettor with a bolt.
Honda Motor
Warning! Check the dry
A
filter every 10 operating
hours.
Replace the dry filter after every
50 operating hours. If the filter
is very dusty it must be cleaned or
replaced more frequently.
Unclip the tabs. Remove the
complete air filter cover to the
side or upward. Please make
sure that foreign objects cannot fall
into the carburettor. Then remove
the filter element.
Knock out the complete air filter
insert and clean all the parts.
Reinstall all the parts in the reverse
order.
Clean the Cooling Air Paths
Clean the cooling ribs and air grille
to remove mowing residue.
Warning! You must allow
A
the motor to cool. Some
areas on the surface of the motor
become very hot.
Servicing the Motor
You should take your lawnmower to
be checked at an authorised repair
shop every 2 – 3 years to ensure
that the motor is running properly
(have the valves adjusted, etc.).
Care
The easiest way to remove dirt
and grass cuttings is directly after
mowing. Unplug the spark plug
connector and tilt the lawnmower
so that it is not resting on the
spark plug side / carburettor side.
Clean your lawnmower with
a brush and cloth.
Always keep the handle catch
clean. Remove grass cuttings from
the handle retainer if necessary.
Storage
Warning! Allow the motor
A
to cool before carrying your
lawnmower and storing it indoors.
Never store your lawnmower with
petrol in the fuel tank in a building
where the petrol vapours could
come into contact with a naked
flame or sparks.
Always store your lawnmower
indoors. This brillencio lawnmower
has a folding handle designed for
compact storage. Simply tilt the
multi-function box so it is open and
store the grass catcher on the lawn-
mower.
Warning! Make sure that
A
you do not trap the Bowden
cables when folding and unfolding
the lawnmower handle.
