f) Switching on the Speed Controller
Switch on the speed controller by moving the slider (see figure in chapter 9. e) towards the rear of the vehicle („ON").
Then wait for a few seconds (leave the throttle/brake lever on the transmitter in the neutral position; do not move it).
If the vehicle drive starts although the throttle/brake on the transmitter is in the neutral position, then adjust
the trim on the transmitter until the motor stops.
If the trimming path is insufficient, the neutral position must be programmed, see chapter 10. a).
Now check the drive and steering functions of the vehicle.
For programming the speed controller, please observe chapter 10. b)
Important!
If a LiPo battery is used as a drive battery, check the basic settings of the speed controller for whether
undervoltage protection is activated (usually 3.0 V/cell). With the undervoltage recognition deactivated, the
LiPo battery will suffer deep discharge and be destroyed.
If a NiMH driving battery is used, switch off undervoltage recognition or set it to a lower value than for LiPo
batteries, see chapter 10. b).
The LED at the speed controller goes out in the neutral position or is lit in red when driving forward and backwards.
The LED lights up green when driving forwards and at full throttle.
If the correct control signal of the receiver is missing for more than 0.2 seconds (e.g. when the transmitter signal has
failed or the transmitter is not activated), the speed controller switches off the motor for safety reasons.
When the speed controller overheats (e.g. missing cooling from blocked fan), the speed controller switches off the
motor as well. In this case, the LED on the speed controller flashes green.
If the undervoltage protection is activated (absolutely required for LiPo batteries) and the battery voltage undercuts
the set threshold (for LiPo, 3.0 V/cell is recommended), the speed controller reduces the output power initially and
switches off the motor after 10 seconds to prevent deep discharge of the LiPo battery. The LED at the speed controller
then emits a double flashing signal (red).
g) Attaching and Fastening the Car Body
Push the aerial tube from the bottom of the car body through the respective opening. Now put the car body on the
holders and fasten the vehicle panelling with the safety clips removed at the start.
h) Controlling the Vehicle
Operate the throttle/braking lever for the drive function at the transmitter very cautiously and do not drive too fast at
the beginning until you get used to the car's reactions. Do not make any quick and jerky movements with the operating
elements of the remote control.
Never point the transmitter aerial directly onto the vehicle. It will strongly decrease the range. The maximum range will
be achieved when the aerial of the transmitter and vehicle are both vertical and in parallel to each other.
If the vehicle tends to pull towards the left or the right, set the steering trim on the transmitter accordingly.
When switching between forward and reverse gears, the throttle/brake lever must be put in the neutral position briefly
(neutral position = let go of lever, do not move it). If the throttle/brake lever is moved from forward to reverse directly,
the brake function of the drive is activated (vehicle will NOT reverse).
