SOLENOID VALVES
TÜV tested according to DIN EN ISO 23553-1: 2014
DESIGN
Solenoid valve pilot operated 2/2 way diaphragm valve,
closed without current.
Electromagnetic coil with screw connection for wires up
2
to max. 1.5 mm
.
Degree of protection IP44 and/or IP67 according to
IEC/EN 60529.
Valve body made out of brass. Sealing elements in
FKM. Pilot seal material in ruby.
APPLICATION
Safety and control device for oil burners and oil-burning
appliances acc. To DIN EN ISO 23553-1.
Fluid type: heating oil EL, M and S acc. to DIN 51603
Medium temperature from 0 °C to + 160 °C.
Ambient temperature from 0 °C to + 60 °C.
Maximum viscosity from 76 cSt at 0 °C to 160 °C.
Applications with oil type not conform to DIN 51603 are
only permitted with the express and written approval of
the manufacturing plant.
MODE OF OPERATION
If the normally closed solenoid valve is energized, the
armature first opens the pilot valve. From the resulting
fall in pressure in the control chamber, the main seat is
opened by the medium pressure. When the current is
switched off, the armature is de-energized and the pilot
valve seat is closed. As a result, the pressure in the
control chamber equalizes and spring forces induce the
closing of the main seat, whereby this movement is
supported by the pressure of the medium at the valve
entrance.

INSTALLATION
Please ensure you have the right valve type, max.
pressure range, voltage and other values specified on
the nameplate before any installation. The valve can be
installed in any situation (position).
Pipe connection
Pay attention to the pressure inlet side (indicated by the
arrow provided on the valve body). At the valve inlet,
dirt traps must be connected upstream that conform to
the relevant standards (DIN EN ISO 23553-1). The
max. mesh size of this filter may not exceed 0.5mm.
The leak tightness of the valve connection must be
achieved without additional sealing material, such as
Teflon band for example. Do not use the control unit as
a lever to act on the pipe screw connections. Avoid
large mechanical efforts onto the connection.
MAINTENANCE
Prior undertaking any repair work, the electrical circuit
and medium pressure must be switched off.
The coil must only be energized when mounted
onto the valve and never without housing.
Cleaning
The period between cleaning and inspections mainly
depends on the valve's frequency of operation.
Investigating the source of faults
If the valve no longer opens despite the electrical parts
being supplied with a current, please make the following
checks:
- The main fuse of the general power supply
- Electrical connections (phase, grounding, etc.)
- Cable insulation
- Conditions of use of the electrical parts (number of
switching operations per minute, medium and ambient
temperature)
- Voltage (-15% +10% of the nominal voltage specified
on the rating plates)
- Medium pressure
If the valve has leaks, all internal parts should be
cleaned or, if necessary, replaced.
