interfaces are identical and can be used with the supplied Bosch standard
charger. A complete recharge requires appr. 4.5 h. The battery is fully
charged when the Purion display continuously shows a battery symbol with
5 bars or the status LEDs on the battery turn off.
The Bosch Powertube 500 is a lithium-ion battery with a
capacity of 500Wh. Lithium-ion batteries do not show a
"memory effect" and thus can be charged at any battery
level without concern. Please pay attention to disconnect
the battery from the charger after it is fully charged to avoid
continuous re-charging to 100% which might reduce
battery life.
The battery should have room temperature before charging
and at the beginning of a ride to extend battery life and
range.
Always switch off the Bosch eBike System before removing
the battery from the frame.
Removing the battery:
1. Insert the key into the lock, turn the key clockwise until the stop and
hold the position.
2. Lift the battery at the top and push the button at the face of the battery
to unlock it completely (Figure 12).
3. Pull the battery up and lift it out of the downtube to the side (Figure
13)
Act carefully to avoid paint chips on the frame or the battery cover.
