Calculation of the temperature-compensation coefficient α
- Measure density of the sample:
• at a temperature (T
1
• at a temperature (T
2
- Calculate α according to the formula:
density at T
= density at T
2
or
α = ( density at T
– 1 ) : ( T
2
density at T

- Enter value a x 1000 into the instrument.
Note

Example
(measured) density at 26 °C (T
(measured) density at 15 °C (T
α = ( 0.7937 – 1) : (26 – 15)
0.7844
α = (1.011856 – 1) : 11 = 0.011856 : 11 = 0.001078
α
1000 = 1.078; enter this value into the instrument.
