3. ROUTE WIRING
3a. Using the 15-inch (38mm) tie straps, secure the cable next to the sensor housing within 4-inches (10cm) of the
sensor, leaving enough wiring to unplug and plug in the sensor. Secure the wiring every 12-inches (30 cm) to
prevent strain on the sensor or the wiring. Route the wiring along the standard 7-pin electrical cable.
(Refer to Figure 5).
Alternate wiring harnesses that support the sensor, trailer auxiliary camera, and trailer tire pressure monitoring are
available from your Ford dealer. These wiring harnesses can be used in place of the harness provided with the
sensor kit.
4. CONNECTOR STORAGE
4a. Install the 12-pin connector storage dock to provide a location to store the connector and keep it clean when
it is not in use. Make sure the cable can reach the storage dock. Use tie straps to secure the storage dock
to the trailer frame.
CAUTION: DO NOT INSTALL STORAGE DOCK FACING UPWARD. TO PREVENT WATER DAMAGE,
THE STORAGE DOCK MUST BE INSTALLED IN THE ORIENTATION SHOWN IN FIGURE 6.
