3. STARTING-UP
To charge the controller, press the "I" button
located on the rear panel.
After an overall checkout of the system, the
screen displays the following information:
● The type of screwdriver
● The type of joint (soft or hard)
● The duration of the approach phase
● The torque level
4. PROGRAMMING MODE
To enter into the programming mode, press the
"ESC" key for 3 seconds.
To scroll through the lines of the menu, press the
▲ and ▼ arrow keys.
To select a parameter, scroll with the arrow on
the parameter, then press the "VALID" key. The
line then starts flashing.
To change the parameter, press the ▲ and ▼
arrows.
To validate a parameter, press the "VALID" key
again.
To cancel the change, press the "ESC" key.
To exit the programming mode, press the "ESC"
key up to the initial display.
5. PROGRAMMING PARAMETERS
5.1. Model
Because the screwdriver is not automatically
recognised, you must select "MODEL" in the
menu.
This choice will automatically change the default
adjustments of several parameters.
5.2. Torque level
The desired assembly torque is adjusted by a
percentage of the torque range of the selected
tool. For example with a SLC 100 tool, an
adjustment at 50 % for an hard joint determines
an assembly torque of approximately 6 Nm.
This torque value should be confirmed and
adjusted with an ALPHA TESTER for example.
The torque level is indicated on the main screen
by "TORQUE LEVEL".
8 / 190
5.3. Type of joint
You must select the type of joint (hard or soft) on
which the tool is operated.
A typical example of a soft joint is a self-tapping
screw on plastic or sheet metal or an iso screw
in a deformable substance (gasket...). A typical
example of an hard joint is an assembly made of
metal pieces.
If the type of joint selected is "SOFT", the
screwdriver will work at the selected speed (see
5.6).
If the type of joint selected is "HARD", the
screwdriver will work at the selected speed
during the chosen time (see 5.4) then the speed
will be automatically reduced to reach the
selected torque.
If the type of tightening chosen is not
correct, the tightening results will not
be as precise.
5.4. Approach time
This option can be chosen when the selected
tightening is "HARD".
In this case, you can choose a time included
between MIN (function excluded) and
10.0 seconds.
This time determines the duration during which
the screwdriver will work at the selected speed
(approach speed).
Once this time has elapsed, the speed will be
automatically reduced to a value determined by
the controller (tightening speed) which depends
on the torque level.
The value of the approach time is indicated on
the main screen by the letter Z.
Adjusting the approach speed only
serves to reduce the tightening time
of the long screws. If the torque is
reached during this phase (at high
speed), the tightening results are less
acurate. To avoid this, we suggest
that you start with a short approach
time, then slowly increase until you
reach the best time.
If the torque has been reached during this
phase, a NOK message is displayed on the
screen with 3 audible sounds.
The output signals "ERROR" and "TORQUE"
will be transmitted simultaneously.
