These instructions explain how to correctly use your equipment. Only certain techniques
and uses are described.
The warning symbols inform you of some potential dangers related to the use of your
equipment, but it is impossible to describe them all. Check Petzl.com for updates and

1. Field of application
This equipment is personal protective equipment (PPE) used to protect against sliding.
Crampons for competitive ice climbing and dry tooling.
These crampons are EN 893 certified only with ASOLO Comp XT boots. Without the
boot, this crampon is not PPE.
This product must not be pushed beyond its limits, nor be used for any purpose other
than that for which it is designed.
Responsibility
WARNING
Activities involving the use of this equipment are inherently dangerous.
You are responsible for your own actions, decisions and safety.
Before using this equipment, you must:
- Read and understand all Instructions for Use.
- Get specific training in its proper use.

3. Inspection, points to verify
Petzl recommends a detailed inspection at least once every 12 months. Follow the
procedures described at Petzl.com. Record the results on your PPE inspection form.
Before each use
Before each use, check the general condition of your crampons. Verify there are no
cracks, deformation, or corrosion, especially on the frame and the front point.
Check the sharpness of the front point.
Make sure the mounting nuts are tight on the two parts of the frame, and on the front
point.
Make sure the crampon is securely attached to the boot, by checking that the front and
rear frames do not move.

When to retire your equipment:
WARNING: an exceptional event can lead you to retire a product after only one use,
depending on the type and intensity of usage and the environment of usage (harsh
environments, marine environments, sharp edges, extreme temperatures, chemicals...).
A product must be retired when:
- It has been subjected to a major fall or load.
- It fails to pass inspection. You have any doubt as to its reliability.
- You do not know its full usage history.
- When it becomes obsolete due to changes in legislation, standards, technique or
incompatibility with other equipment...

3. Contrôle, points à vérifier

Avant chaque sortie, contrôlez l'état général de vos crampons. Vérifiez l'absence de

Vérifiez le bon serrage des écrous de fixation des deux parties du corps et de la pointe
avant.
Veillez à ce que le crampon soit bien fixé à la chaussure, en contrôlant que les corps
avant et arrière ne bougent pas.

4. Réglage pointe avant et partie avant/arrière

Mise au rebut :
ATTENTION, un événement exceptionnel peut vous conduire à rebuter un produit
après une seule utilisation (type et intensité d'utilisation, environnements d'utilisation :
milieux agressifs, milieux marins, arêtes coupantes, températures extrêmes, produits
chimiques...).
Un produit doit être rebuté quand :
- Il a subi une chute ou un effort important.
- Le résultat des vérifications du produit n'est pas satisfaisant. Vous avez un doute sur
sa fiabilité.
- Vous ne connaissez pas son historique complet d'utilisation.
- Quand son usage est obsolète (évolution législative, normative, technique ou
incompatibilité avec d'autres équipements...).
Détruisez ces produits pour éviter une future utilisation.

Persönliche Schutzausrüstung (PSA) zum Schutz gegen Ausrutschen bzw. Ausgleiten.
Steigeisen zum Wettkampfklettern im Eis und Drytooling Die Steigeisen sind nur mit
den Schuhen ASOLO Comp XT nach EN 893 zertifiziert. Ohne diesen Schuh ist das
Steigeisen keine PSA.
Dieses Produkt darf nicht über seine Grenzen hinaus belastet werden. Es darf
ausschließlich zu dem Zweck verwendet werden, für den es entworfen wurde.

3. Überprüfung, zu kontrollierende Punkte
Petzl empfiehlt eine gründliche Überprüfung mindestens alle 12 Monate. Bitte beachten
Sie die auf Petzl.com beschriebenen Vorgehensweisen. Tragen Sie die Ergebnisse in
den Prüfbericht Ihrer PSA ein.
Vor jedem Einsatz
Überprüfen Sie vor jeder Tour den allgemeinen Zustand Ihrer Steigeisen. Überprüfen Sie
insbesondere den Steigeisenkörper und die Frontalzacke auf Risse, Deformierungen
und Korrosionserscheinungen.
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Frontalzacke scharf geschliffen ist.
Überprüfen Sie, ob die Befestigungsmuttern von Vorderteil, Fersenteil und Frontalzacke
fest angezogen sind.
Achten Sie darauf, dass das Steigeisen fest am Schuh sitzt und dass sich Vorder- und
Fersenteil nicht bewegen.
Ausführliche Hinweise bezüglich der bei jeder PSA zu kontrollierenden Punkte finden Sie
im Internet unter www.petzl.com/ppe.
Sollten irgendwelche Zweifel hinsichtlich des Zustands eines Produkts bestehen,
senden Sie es zur Überprüfung an Petzl.
4. Einstellen von Frontalzacke und Vorder-/
Fersenteil
Frontalzacke
Benutzen Sie zum Festschrauben/Lösen der Befestigungsmutter der Frontalzacke den
mitgelieferten Schlüssel.
Achten Sie darauf, die Befestigungsmutter der Frontalzacke fest anzuziehen.
Vorder-/Fersenteil
Denken Sie daran, die Befestigungsmuttern immer fest anzuziehen.
5. Zusätzliche Informationen zu den Steigeisen
Das Produkt entspricht der PSA-Verordnung (EU) 2016/425. Die EU-

Aussondern von Ausrüstung:
ACHTUNG, außergewöhnliche Umstände können die Aussonderung eines Produkts
nach einer einmaligen Anwendung erforderlich machen (Art und Intensität der
Benutzung, Anwendungsbereich: aggressive Umgebungen, Meeresklima, scharfe
Kanten, extreme Temperaturen, Chemikalien usw.).
In folgenden Fällen muss ein Produkt ausgesondert werden:
- Nach einem schweren Sturz (oder Belastung)
- Das Überprüfungsergebnis ist nicht zufriedenstellend, das Produkt fällt bei der
Überprüfung durch Sie bezweifeln seine Zuverlässigkeit.
- die vollständige Gebrauchsgeschichte ist nicht bekannt
- das Produkt ist veraltet (Änderung der gesetzlichen Bestimmungen, der Normen und
der technischen Vorschriften, Inkompatibilität mit anderen Ausrüstungsgegenständen
usw.)
Zerstören und entsorgen Sie diese Produkte, um ihren weiteren Gebrauch zu
verhindern.

Transportieren Sie die Steigeisen in einer Tasche, um die Zacke zu schützen und zu

Reinigen und trocknen Sie Ihre Steigeisen nach jedem Gebrauch. Schärfen Sie die
Zacken, indem Sie die Kante aber nicht die Fläche der Zacken (ausgenommen bei der
Frontalzacke) schleifen.
H. Änderungen/Reparaturen (außerhalb der Petzl Betriebsstätten nicht zulässig,
ausgenommen Ersatzteile)
